One thing that I love and hate at the same time is the random assortment from corpses and containers. I was going through this one part, and I got two upgrades and a new Mark III AR, all of which I was very excited about. I then picked up a few health packs up too. I went on shortly to take a rocket straight to the face and died, and when I went back through it I got none of the kick ass items. Though, I have found a lot of awesome stuff by chance, so I suppose it evens out.

So I finally got my xbox back today, and I proceeded to play pretty much the entire day. Spectacular game. I was surprised how quick Nihlus got offed, I was thinking he stuck with you the entire way. He looked really cool. Ah well, I have Garrus now. I was stuck on the puzzle on Noveria. I admit, I looked up the correct combo. I can't wait to continue this game though. Its gunna be right up there with KotOR for me.

For some reason I knew immediately that the puzzle was basically the same as the on you solve during your Sith trials in KotOR.

It really wasn't very hard at all for me to figure out, but I guess this might be why.

And that is why I save every two minutes in this game. tongue

I'm playing through now as a woman, so if I kill off Kaiden because he is worthless do I get Ashley as a love interest? Or only the Asari?

Also things are so much harder when you have to depend on biotics. Running and gunning was so much easier.

I loved when I punched that reporter chick in the face, but one of my gang buddies from da hood wanted me to get his bro out of jail, but I didn't have enough intimidate points to get him out, so I ended up having to shoot him so he wouldn't talk, which was sort of disappointeing.

So far, I am amazed by the cinematic appeal this game has. I was just made a SPECTRE but I don't have any money so I can't buy anything the requisitions officer has to sell. sad

I'm loving the soundtrack, it's easily one of the best soundtracks I've had the pleasure of listening to - but being an 80s synth fan it isn't surprising. "The Thorian" track is the one they used on the second preview trailer, it's probably my favourite track.

A couple of general questions:

1) I saw Armin Shimerman was listed in the voice credits, does anyone know whose voice/s he provided? I can't remember hearing him anywhere.

2) Does anyone know what the "Tactician" achievement means? It says "shield damage greater than health damage" - is that my weapon damage, or damage inflicted on me? I got it in the end, but only by accident. thinking

You took more damage to your shields than you did to health.

I just crossed the 50 hour mark with my first playthrough. So the game is clearly not "too short" as many have said, or even shorter than KOTOR (I never broke 50 hours in KOTOR). Hell, it's nearly twice as long as Jade Empire which I never even thought was too short. Yes, I've done every side quest, scanned every planet, investigated every anomaly, and found many unmarked points of interest. Once I found a whole scavenger camp that never showed up on my radar. I literally crested a hill and didn't see it until I was on top of it. Then there was the mineral deposit and thresher maw battle that took place in the red area of the map. Joker was telling me to turn around the entire time, but never reset me back the center of the map. I love the planetary exploration. I had a total nerdgasm every time I landed on a new one. I never once thought they were boring or repetitive. My ultimate goal was to crack level 50 before I went to Ilos and started the endgame, but I'm stuck on lvl 47 and literally have nothing left to do now except that. Hopefully I'll get to 50 before the final boss battle.

I'm loving this game and find it to be by far the least disappointing of all the high profile releases in the last half of the year (Bioshock, Halo 3, the Orange Box and COD4 - haven't played Assassin's Creed yet).

I seriously love Bioware, and wonder what exactly Bungie, 2K Boston/Australia, and Infinity Ward (Valve gets a pass) were doing with their similar dev times that resulted in much shorted/shallower games. Unless Bioware started working on ME right after KOTOR wrapped up, those other developers have no excuse.

As far as run time goes, Oblivion totally owns ME. Of course they are different, but you could easily play 300 hours with one character trying to do everything in Oblivion. Being a sci-fi fan, I still like ME more, but it does show you that there are other games that managed to cram more stuff in there.

I am just hoping that they come out will all sorts of downloadable content, like more planets and systems to explore. This second play through I am finding a lot more stuff, and with the different paragon/renegade types you have a lot more reason to re-play the game than in any other. In KOTOR I was kind of rushed for time so I just went back to a saved game to see the good and bad ending.

The highest I got with my first character was 47, and that was completing every quest and surveying most planets - I suppose 50 is possible if you squeeze every single XP point from the game right from level one. Reaching level 60 is going to be fun. tired

Just take the character you beat the game with through another playthrough.
