Just for fun I've started a new career with a female adept. I going full renegade and the really cool thing is that she comes off as a virtual copy of BSG's Admiral Caine. I'm only a few hours in, but I like how even though I'm a renegade I'm also not an evil jerk who steps on bunnies and pokes children with sharp things. I always hated that about KOTOR and Jade Empire. The "dark path" really amounted to nothing more than being a ****. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case in ME.

Can we be a little bit more sensitive with the HTR stuff guys? Stuff like being able to kill Kaidan... I'd really rather not accidentally read this stuff before I play it.

Just take the character you beat the game with through another playthrough.

That's the plan. The gap between levels past 50 is so huge it'll probably take another playthrough just to get to 60.

So I just finished the game, but I can't figure out how to get everything to carryover into a new game+. There's no "new game+" option so I tried recreating my character with the same name and back story, but that didn't work either. Can someone please tell me what simple step I'm missing. Do I have to delete all the saves for that character and then start a new career or what?

I did the same thing, and I forgot to mention I can't imagine her being anything but a total lesbian. Which makes me really not want to save Kaiden even though last time I saved Ashely. That and the fact he's worthless. She is far too scared from growing up on the streets to have a normal relationship with men. I loved the banter between her and the drunk C-Sec guy at the start.

So, am I correct that my character can visit any of the planets but cannot necessarily land on each planet in the galaxy. I've gone to some planets and have not gotten a survey or land option.

The Normandy can visit every star system in the game, but you can only land on certain plants/moons within those systems. It's usually one planet per system, but some systems have no land option.

Here's a cool tip I found on the official site - if you go to a solar system in the map and don't move the cursor around for a second or two, you might notice a faint flashing somewhere in the system (usually in an asteroid belt), move your cursor over the flashing and you'll discover a hidden object.

I've almost given up trying to create a female character that I liked, all of them end up looking like scary lesibans sad I think the hair options ruin it, they just plain suck. Even her voice is horrible, there's something about it that just sounds weird.

I think I'm just gonna go for a Jango look-alike for my renegade, with one of those huge scars down his face.

I actually think Jennifer Hale (female Shepard and Bastilla from KOTOR) does a much better job than all-too-Canadian sounding Mark Meer (male Shepard). It's unfortunate when your worst voice actor does the voice of the character pushed by all the game's marketing as the real Commander Shepard. I'm not, however, saying the game has bad voice acting since it doesn't. I just think they might have been better served by Rapheal Sbarge (or someone else) doing male Shepard's voice.

I have to admit not having peeked or read anything up tp release (so the game would be fresh to me), I totally thought for the first couple of hours that teh voice of sheppard was Lorenzo Lamas. Even after finding out it wasnt I still pretended it was, it added a whole sci-fi channel movie vibe to the game.

We needed Matthew Fox to do "Jack" Shepard's voice.

I don't think he's too bad. I wish the female Shepard had more of a Bastilla voice, that was far better.

That's probably the first time Lorenzo Lamas ever improved anything, even make-believe. laugh

Ugh.

I strongly dislike Sbarge's voice. Couldn't stand him in KotOR, can't stand him here. And female Shepard's voice needed to be more like Ashley's. Ashley's voice had emotion and depth to it. F. Shepard's voice is too flat. I had to delete my career with "Jane" because I couldn't stand to listen to her voice any longer.

On the other hand, Mark Meer kicked ass, IMO. He's got that heroic quality to his voice that suits Shepard as a Paragon, and yet he can also sound ruthless, which suits Renegade Shepard. He's awesome.

I was just thinking back to parts of the game that stick out in my mind. I keep remembering the scene with Vigil - the voice, story and music filled the scene with history, sadness and hope all mixed together - it's probably one of my favourite moments.
