Of course you are going to have to pay for content they just took out of the original game to suck out consumers a little more. I paid 60 flippin euro's for that game. That's more than enough. If they make a game good enough to get some decent sales they will make an insane profit. I'm fed up buying games the honest way, because these companies don't give any fair deals in return. Maybe I should just shell out the 100 bucks and download every game for free.

And I feel for you Reynar. I didn't have Live or a good while. It shouldn't be hard at all to put the updates and patches online, so you can burn them on a disk and get them on your console, just a little service. No company does this however, because you will buy the game without it anyway.

Jeez, bitter much? If you don't want it, don't buy it.

But I do want it. I just don't think I should pay up again for little bits and pieces they have taken out, after just paying top money for the original product.

Yeah, I highly doubt they removed specific content just so they could release it later as premium DLC. Was Bioware on the grassy knoll as well?

You really think they will call in a team of developers and writers to make some new content after the game is released? laugh

All they do after the game is released is have one guy try and fix the bugs. All the content is just created in one run, and some of them just leave a bit on the shelf so they can release it on XBOX live.
The developers and writers are all working on the sequel, because that is what is making the money.

Not quite -- a good chunk of the the downloadable content for Oblivion, for example, was developed long after the main game had already hit the store shelves, and during the same period when the two main expansions were going gold, or after they were actually released.

So it all depends on several different circumstances during the design process...also, BioWare are still in the very preliminary stages of writing and designing Mass Effect 2, which leaves more than a bit of free room for having their "A"-team work on the DLC at the same time.

Additionally, since most of the DLC is purportedly set to bridge ME1 and ME2, you're looking at tandem-development, which is a good thing. It happens all the time.

So I finished it. All in all, it's a decent game. It's not the end all be all of RPG's, but it does draw you in and gives you a good game experience. Some of the assignments are boring as hell - how many planets can you explore, survey minerals and find artifacts before you go crazy? I wish they would have had more dialogue options with your sidekicks during the game rather than having to wait until you were on the Normandy.

I'll play through again on hardcore as a biotic and be done. It's not engaging enough for me to want to play through several times. That was the cool draw of KOTOR, you wanted to play both the good and bad sides because you got something out of doing it both ways - not so much with this one.

I highly doubt that this is content that was simply "removed" from the game by BioWare for 2 reasons:

1) BioWare does not have a history of doing that. In fact, this is really the first DLC for any of their games.
2) There is no VO for this campaign, meaning it wasn't finished when they were recording VO last year and were unable to get the actors back in the studio. If this were finished with the rest of the game, you'd think they'd have had the actors record lines.

That ment there was english VO but no non english VO .

but checking the bioware forums Chris Priestly has updated with this

It seems my annual mistake has come early this year and I need to correct myself.

I previously had mentioned the Bring Down the Sky would be fully Voice Overed in English, but would only have subtitles for foreign VO (like French, German and Italian).

I was wrong.

There will be full VO for English, French, German and Italian. Spanish and Polish versions have localized subtitles, but English audio. And all language versions will be available on March 10, as far as I know.

Sorry for the confusion. This is what happens when I think I know more than I do until the Localization Lead comes and lays an Irish beadown on me with her mighty wrath. Hope this now clears things up.

1) No there is no "patching" in this DLC. It concentrates on the "Bring Down the Sky" story/worlds/batarians, etc. Should we ever do a patch, it would not be something we would charge for.

2) The batarians as they are not changing from our current DLC. They are slightly different than they were as described in Drew's book, but the way they are in the game is the "final" version. When I asked Drew why, he said "Remember how in Star Trek klingons from Star Trek looked different from klingons in Star Trek the Next Generation? Yeah, it's kind of like that".

3) Will there be new armor, weapons, mods, etc and how will it fit into the whole story...sorry, I can't say. No spoilers here.

I'm about to head off into the assault on Saren's base. I'm taking Ashley and Tali with me (since I've been using them throughout the entire game except for Noveria, when Liara had to work out her drama).

Should I bring Wrex along on this one, or does it not matter?

Talk about keeping things secret.
I certainly didn't expect them to be close to finishing the PC-version right when they announce it.

I'm having some trouble in Ilos. I have no idea where to go after I land in the Mako. My map indicates an elevator, and I've fought my way to what appears to be said elevator, but the button to summon it doesn't work. Is there something I need to do?

I checked the walkthrough and Gamespot, but it wasn't all that helpful.

You need to wind your way all the way to the back of the courtyard. Hang a left just after the two Armatures, then follow the roughly "S" shaped path until you come to a clearing with a squad of geth chilling out. After that, the path splits (there is an elevator on the left that goes up to a small area with a crate and two geth Shock Troopers), but both ways end in the same place: a clearing with around 5 geth hoppers. At the other side of that area is the elevator to the security control room. The elevator in the security control room comes out at the elevator marked on your map.

I hope that helps.
