Collector's edition artwork up at the official site. It's enough for me to cancel my original pre-order and get the CE.

"THANK YOU, GOD!!!"

Sweet Christ, that artwork's nice. It's gonna match up with my N7 avatar armor on LIVE. Then again, anything would look nice sitting right next to the regular version. Looks like BioWare sweet-talked EA into letting them do something special for the LCE, something other than pandering to the mouth-breathers.

It's November -- I was kinda expecting this announcement any day, considering the game drops in January. Amazon has yet to put it up, but the second they do, I'm there.

Damn, but this is the classy I was hoping for.

Now ^that is cover art.

I know it's ripped right from the teaser trailer and that it would never work as the cover for the mass-market version but it's a million times better than the mass-market cover.

For those of us who loved the first one and have followed the development of the second, that cover sums up perfectly what ME2 is about.

Scratch what I just said -- Amazon now has the LCE up for pre-order. $69.99 for Xbox 360, $59.99 for PC.

Just put my order through for the 360 version. Considering what happened with the Dragon Age LCE, anyone wanting this one had best do the same rather soonish.

EDIT: Just saw that the Collector's Edition comes with a limited-edition Mass Effect: Redemption #1 comic book. Very nice.

I only just finished the first game (going through the sidequests now), but anybody here remember how the Limited Edition version of the first Mass Effect game was? Just asking if the extras were worth it. I'm probably going to get the Collector's version anyway, for the extra items, though. Although I'll probably be buying Redemption when it comes out anyway- I think Mr. John Jackson Miller is writing it, so that almost guarantees the quality (it can't replace the KotOR comic series, but at least its something).

Tried to pre-order at Gamestop, but they didn't have it listed in store yet, sadly enough. I'd try Amazon, but... my parents don't like me getting too much stuff in the mail. Although Amazon looks like it has all the DGA editions in stock at the moment, though who knows for how long.

The Limited Edition? Definitely worth it -- several documentaries, a good-sized chunk of the game soundtrack, an art book, and my personal favorite, the Galactic Codex book, which basically was a big continuity-primer/textbook. Historical timelines, sociopolitical information on the state of the galaxy, info on Citadel races, Systems Alliance military data, information on major corporations and their activities, and more.

Though much of this info is now available online in places like the Mass Effect Wiki, at the time it came out, it showed that the BioWare writers had/have a good eye for continuity and the subtleties of world-building. And you simply can't beat that in-game Codex, either.

Like I said, though...if you're wanting to lock in the ME2 Limited Edition, now's the time to do it. They're gonna be filling up their pre-order quotas pretty damn quick. Amazon and GameStop are both offering exclusive pre-order bonus items, though it depends on which you prefer. GameStop will have the Terminus Armor (increasing run speed, personal shields, and an additional magazine of reserve ammo for your guns) and M-90 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon (gravity gun), while Amazon and the EA Store will have the Inferno Armor, which gives you negotiation bonuses and an increase in run speed, as well as augmented damage from combat powers.

Hey guys, there's a legal way to get the Pinnacle Station DLC for free if you have the PC version of the game. Wendy's is doing a promo thing for NCAA Football 10. If you sign up you get a $5 promo code for the EA Online Store.

Wendy's Sweepstakes

Under the email address/cup code thing there's a little link that says "If you don't have a code, click here." Click that and enter your email address. They'll send you a cup code which you then use on that page to sign up for the sweepstakes. Fill in the information on the next page and you'll get the $5 off code in your email. Now just add Pinnacle Station to your cart:

Pinnacle Station DLC

And use the promo code at checkout. You'll get the DLC for free.

Watch Gametrailers.com tonight for Gametrailers TV. They're going to do some reveals tonight, including showing a new party member and showing some of the Illusive Man, the leader of Cerberus.

This had better be the big reveal of Expat the Volus joining the party, like I have been hoping for since the initial release of Mass Effect 1.
