Every single owner of a NexGen console is raking them across the coals on the LAForums. The best part is the REPs and VIPs have no answer. They keep repeating the Hayden Blackmon line: "The team is all about delivering a kick-ass game experience with the DMM and Euphoria." They no longer even address the question because they've seen it; and been hammered-on about it, so much.

I have called them shortsighted over there, and will repeat it over here.
There is no reason for them NOt to include a duel mode, or even an online MP.
No reason, just excuses.

As much as I'm looking forward to the game I totally agree, online play is pretty much expected of games nowadays and it's a big mistake on Lucasart's part not to implement it.

I am no longer interested purchasing it for my 360.

www.Gamefly.com

No replay value beyond all the alternate endings.

I'm still going to get it for my Wii.

Wii has duel mode, and thus, it is a viable purchase. As is the PS2 and PSPS versions.
The NexGen versions are not morthy of purchase because there is little, nada, or zilch left to do, after solving the alternate endings.

So what?
KotOR didn't have duel mode, or anything other then the main story.
We all loved that tho.
I'm still getting it for my 360.

The Wii does have a duel mode, but it's just one on one and offline only. The PS2 doesnt have anything special other than those 5 extra missions. The 360/PS3 versions will look and play so much better than those other versions and they'll be worth it, imo, even if the other versions do have some extra missions. For me, it's going to be fun just "playing" with stormtroopers in the Tie construction facility. Plus, there are a lot of singleplayer only games, that are worth it and I'm not just talking RPGs.

Also, the official site has the Xbox Live logo, which probably means DLC. What else could it mean, since they've said that there won't be any multiplayer? So, maybe they'll release those additional missions or even add new missions, other than those on the Wii and PS2 versions. They could even add multiplayer for all we know.

But, I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's weird that they're saying no multiplayer for the 360/PS3 versions. Why? Because they've mentioned it more than once. Here's just two of those times it's been mentioned.

Here's a part from one of the production diaries available at the official site, that talks about the 360/PS3 versions LucasArts is developing:

"The multiplayer designers lead teams defining what arenas and events await gamers playing across remote connections. They work with network engineers to make sure all those features are actually online and functional."

and this is a quote from the Project Lead, Haden Blackman, from Celebration Europe:

“We will have a multi-player component to the game. The game is all about kicking butt with the Force, and from Day 1 we knew that one of the most satisfying things to do is kick your friend’s butt with the Force so we wanted to make sure we delivered on that experience in multi-player. There will be an online component as well and it will support all the requirements of a system like Xbox LIVE.”

This could mean either two things. Either they're keeping it a secret, which is weird since they've already mentioned it, or, they decided to drop it from the next-gen versions.

I even made a two part post (couldnt fit into one) about this, asking the LucasArts employee (at the official forums) about this and I even added an additional source that mentioned multiplayer. I basically asked why is there no multiplayer, when they were clearly working on it. He did not reply, of course.

Yeah I did notice the Xbox Live logo on the game on the website. There's still a few months before the game comes out so maybe they're holding off announcing what that live content is.

Why would they not tell us though? With all of the let down from the Spike exclusives, I would have dropped that bomb on the last segment, or at least hinted to it. Oh well, maybe they will make this game so it has some replay value for 360/PS3 owners. And I do agree with the comment about KOTOR, however, that was a massively long game that I do not see this one being. I had forgotten about half the stuff I did in the beginning by the time I was half through with it.

"Also, I know lots of people have asked me about a PC version of the game. I realize that no matter how I phrase this, PC gamers will be unhappy. But wehn the game ships in September, there will not be a PC version. I wish I could get into the details of "why" there isn't going to be a PC version, but honestly, I just don't have the information. As such, all PC-related questions will not be answered." --Gotta luv the helpful reps a the LA forums.

What do you want them to say? There's no PC version to answer questions about. So why shouldn't they say "stop posting things like 'when is the PC version coming out'" when it isn't?

And I doubt the suits are going to say "if someone asks why there isn't a PC version, here's the list of reasonings we used and the people you can contact to discuss them."

LucasArts created an Official Thread for the PC release.
They opened themselves up to being pounded with questions.

So? Now it's confirmed there will not be one. What exact questions are they supposed to be answering?

My guess, and this is complete speculation is that they started 360/PS3 multi player,

then Namco: "can we put Star Wars Characters in Soul Caliber 4" idea

Lucasarts: "OK but we've got TFU which has multiplayer" happy

Namco: "Mmmmm less people might buy our game if theres already a Star Wars multiplayer out, Heres $$$$$$ cancel the Multi player" thinking

Lucasarts : "OK" money_eyes

Yes. It has been confirmed. No PC version.

Any and ALL PC related questions, thats what OFFICIAL threads are for, at least from my understanding. But I've never read the whole thing, just the last page, so I don't really know, nor do I really care... the official response was just funny to me.

Got any more rhetorical questions?

Even though that is speculation; it sounds just like something big corporations would do. Which sucks for people like me who have never played Soul Caliber before or would like to use alot more characters from Star Wars other than Vader and Yoda.
