So it looks like there very well might be multiplayer for the Xbox 360 version, after all

Now the only other thing would be to release the Wii/PS2 content over Live for download.

I don't put much faith in that at all. I think it's a hopeful rumor, at the very best, and an intentional hoax at the worst.

I'm taking it with a big grain of salt right now, though I would certainly love to see multiplayer in the Euphoria versions of the game. Also, I don't know who picked that list of characters to play as; who would honestly want to play as the Jedi Brute from the Episode III game? C'mon.

That said... I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to try to steal Nintendo's thunder like that, though.

First of all, I apologise if anyone has come up with this hypothesis before but I could not find it in a search of the boards.

Reading the Vanity Fair article, it claims that there would be a twist viz. the formation of the Rebel Alliance and the theme of redemption. Well, putting two and two together I took this mean that 'Starkiller' would in the end of the game (or maybe just in a canonical ending of the game, I know there are choices) redeem himself and become the founder of the Rebel Alliance, only to be killed either a) by Vader, or b) seeing as he will grow more powerful by Vader, be betrayed by the woman he loves (emotions would cloud his thinking and thus he could not see the betrayal).

If this turns out to be a big pile of poo when the game comes out, oh well. I thought it was a cool theory.

EDIT:

http://www.rebelscum.com/TAC0812vader.asp

Saw this pic in another board, and the link says it's Vader after a brutal fight aboard the new Death Star with the Rebel Alliance. Wouldn't take much to guess the fight is with the redeemed 'Starkiller'. Seeing the beating he's taken, I'm more inclined to go with my b) theory that his love kills him, allowing Vader to escape.

Great , and intruiging stuff! Definetly don't know
how this will play out, but I know a lot of won't approve.

I may be one, but lets give it a chance to see how it plays
into the story. Let's keep in mind, Lucas has the say in all
of this like the next movie.

And c'mon who would not want to play as the jedi Brute? the guy
is a bad arse kicking Vader all around in ROTS, protecting the temple.

Drew Karpyshyn made sure there was a Jedi brute in the Bane sequel when he penned Sarro Xaj.
I don't see why not, I mean a Jedi brute with a double blade and the force unleashed would not be an easy mark in duel mode.

Sarro Xaj was partly my inspiration for replaying Jedi Academy with a double-bladed blue saber. happy

One of the VIP's at LA said new game footage is coming soon, but didn't offer a release date.

TFU won't be the first appearance of the SA after all, he'll be appearing in both versions of Soul Calibur IV next month.

Aww c'mon now! It's a conspiracy, I tell ya. They want the lot of us to buy both games because they're counting on our geekiness to override our common sense (no, I've never liked Soulcalibur).

If they include Revan and Malak as playable characters, I'll plotz.

That said, I'm still mostly interested in the Xbox 360 version at the moment. Krome Studios is a pretty good developer, but I'm wondering how well they'll be able to scale all of the interesting tech from the PS3 and 360 builds. The Wii can't seem to pull off 1:1 lightsaber control as well as they'd like it to, and because of that, I can't see any reason for motion control over traditional buttons, especially when gesture-based commands can be misinterpreted.

Though, if there are proper shadows and real-time lighting effects in the Wii version, as these latest new screens seem to show, then awesome.

I plan on earning "Lightsaber-Throw Mastery," "The Bigger They Are," and "Cannon Fodder"...all at the exact same momemt.

It'd be not unlike earning "The Nuge" and "My Love for You Is Like a Truck" Achievements simultaneously in Gears of War.
