That sounds pretty interesting and a good continuation of what was started in Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, whose best scene was easily the scene where Palpatine talks with Vader about how he should WANT to overthrow him if he's to be worthy of his Sith apprentice role.

The game is coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3. Scaled-down versions of the game (no "euphoria" engine", etc) are coming out on the PS2 and PSP, and I think DS. I thought I read it might come out on the Wii, but not have the focus on being a lightsabre-centric game like many hope the Wii will eventually see.

if the game is based on vaders apprentice it could have some good insight to vaders thoughts towards palpatine which were touched slightly by the dark lord novel. also that would make for a great star wars tv tie in. lucas has said that the tv show will be set between the pt and ot.

At the hasbro toy fare this weekend they've shown off the Force unleashed figures...

Why would they have a beaten up Vader?
They don't plan on having him lose to some scrub, now are they?
The only logical explanation for something like that, would be a fight against the Emperor. No one else should come close to put even the smallest dent into his armor.

If it's set shortly after ROTS, then it's plausible (in fact, it's already happened in the comics- though it took several Jedi ambushing him, including Bultar Swan and Tsui Choi; and I think it happened in the Dark Lord novel too, though the wounds were less severe there) as Vader is still getting used to his new body and suit.

That's why I don't like some of the comics and books. They create weaknesses where there shouldn't be any and bring in characters who are way too strong for what they are. If there is one thing EU is good in, it's making the movie characters much weaker. Sometimes I wonder whether the guys at Lucas licensing actually listened to all the interviews George Lucas gave...
Not to say that there shouldn't be any threat, it would be difficult to create a good story if the character is unstoppable, but they really tend to go overboard with this stuff (generally speaking, not about Vader getting injured).

they absolutly have to have Vader looking like this at some point in the game, I have been dying to see some more Vader under the suit pictures, videos whatever. ROTS didn't completly cure my craving for some jacked up looking Vader images. I am craving more whether its in the books, the shows or best of all which this is hinting at THE GAME.

P.S.- Anyone know when the Game Informer mag hits newstands?

It's actually quite in line with the films- it's gonna take Vader awhile to get used to his new body (hell, he had trouble walking 2 steps in the movie), let alone get up to snuff on fighting since he had to change styles and such. Dark Lord does a very good job of presenting that problem of Vader's, while the "Purge" comic was a case of numerical superiority (Vader dispatches with most of them with ease) combined with the "new body" factor (as it's only set about a month after ROTS).

Well, that depends on whether the end of Episode III makes a jump in time, as Vader had absolutely no problem moving properly when he was overseeing the construction of the deathstar together with the Emperor and Tarkin. Unless Lucas went back and forth in time, that scene happens before Bail Antilles arrives with Leia on Alderaan. Seeing how he is already on his way shortly after Anakin became Vader, I really doubt that it took that long.
Oh well, as long as they don't make the player character anything close to as powerful as Vader or the Emperor, as it is rumoured in certain articles (which may or may not have any clue about that matter), I might be able to live with it
If they do, it will be another one in the long list of "my character is soooo much more powerful than your character" b*, they have done so often in the EU by now.
TLJ Edit: That acronym is not allowed. Heh.
