LOL! Well, I'm actually happily married. Keep in mind that the numbers you see are the total since July. I should also point out that since I became the manager of a call center in my local area last month, that I've been seeing much less free time between family and work to play games. sad However, I still plan on buying FoC and putting my 2 or 3 hours per week in on it. tongue

As for EaW online, it's worked pretty well since the 1.05 patch. I highly recommend that you give it a try. I've had quite a few fun matches. My alias in EaW is SaintVezner. If you ever want to have a skirmish, let me know. I'm always good for a game when I have some free time.

ah, the computer game-sympathetic wives... they must be cherished.

JP's not only allows gaming, but his office is littered with LEGO Star Wars, the latest of which - Jabba's Barge, and I must say (after having spent the night at his house celebrating his son's 4th b/day) that his Lego SW collection is very impressive... and I've noticed him selling his vintage SW figures online... shock A new era!

in short, I appologise for me comment. Great you have a wife, even better she doesn't mind gaming tongue

That's awesome. Though I don't collect legos anymore, I used to have quite a few of them when I was a kid. My son is currently 17 months old and I can't wait for him to grow old enough to appreciate legos. Then, oh yes, I will once again be a Star Wars legos collecting fanatic. tongue

So I've bought FoC and am loving it. The GC game is much more challenging, online games are more diverse, the gameplay is less laggy, and the campaign is pretty fun. It's well worth the $30 IMO.

I kinda felt that the original EaW could have continued (as Rebels) until ROTJ. The Empire campaign kinda ends with blowing up all the Rebel bases / planets, but as the Rebels I only have a third of the planets conquered and with the events of blowing up the Death Star enroute to Mon Cal. it could have gone on to events of ROTJ.

Kinda disappointed I finished the Rebel's so quickly tongue

edit = so when I have some spare $$$ i might pick this expansion up. Wow, I just realised, I've had a computer game and expansion. (i was stupid and bought the expansion to battlefield 1942, without having the orginal game, but my mate gave it to me LOL)

So the expansion is worth it?

How about solely from the SP side, because I rarely MP strategy games, unless it's a boring day and I play against the computer, I get pwned by other people in MP games tongue

Yeah, it's worth it. The campaign is pretty fun (especially at the end. wink ) and the SP Galactic Conquest game is TONS better than it was with regular EaW. The AI is leaps and bounds better.

Really? So the Imperial AI no longer builds only Tartans, Broadsides, Scouts and Acclamators? I have played SP GC several times as the Rebels and I have only fought maybe three star destroyers. Not counting that dandy fool Piet. Love him in the movies but boy did they castrate him in the game (though seeing the Falcon get smoked by his proton beam is always funny).

I tried ordering it on Amazon.com, but I guess it wasn't released in Canada yet 'cause I was not allowed to. Hopefully I can get it soon.

Well, that does sound worth it...
As I've only played EaW once since March, I didn't care much for FoC. However, yesterday I played the demo (was on a magazine's DVD, I would never have downloaded it) and was surprised. The new gameplay features of corruption seem very interesting, even though only two or three are in the demo. Am I right to expect it to be very interesting in the full game? Also, new units are nice, but weren't a reason to buy this before. Then again... Interceptors, Venators, SSDs... grin

Hm, gotta get and beat Splinter Cell 4 first, though wink

Yes, I can officially confirm that when playing GC mode on FoC against the empire, you WILL be attacked by MANY ISDs before too long. Once they tech up to that point, watch out!

I never thought EaW could be so difficult! happy

Ah, that is good news indeed. I mean I don't feel a thrill if I am not being attacked by ISDs. I was just disappointed because stuff like fighting three ISDs only happened to me once. Once but at least I immortalized it.

Dooomed

Persevere!

That exhiliration in the face of certain doom only to prevail was why I wanted to get EaW. Not to fight a bazillion TIE scouts or A-Wings.

Looking forward to the expansion when it is released here.
