So I'm playing a GC game as the rebs and am trying to fortify my border worlds against Imperial attacks. Bespin has become a key planet for me to hold since it seems to be a place that both the Imperials and the Consortium want to invade (I was attacked there no less than three times before I even had a decent space station constructed). Once I managed to construct a level 6 station, I also fortified Bespin with a small fleet of additional ships. In addition, I put an ion canon on cloud city just for added leverage during any battles. Yeah, I'm thinking that no way will anything get through my defenses. Well, I just got attacked by an Imperial fleet consisting of Piett, Thrawn, Moc (in the Arc Hammer), 11 additional ISDs, and an assorted group of interdictors, tartans, and tie defenders. Needless to say I retreated and considered myself lucky that I didn't lose everything that I had in orbit. So far they haven't been able to take cloud city (I have Beliblis there along with quite a few other ground forces) but I imagine it will be just a matter of time.

What worries me now is that I will have to take that massive Imperial fleet on again in the future if I ever plan on finishing this GC game. worried

Yes, I'm loving FoC. happy

Nah, it actually is a moon. It's just had half its southern hemisphere eaten away by some weird coral-fungi growth stuff.

So if I enjoyed EaW despite weak and predictable AI, this is worth getting?

Is it a fully priced game?

$30 in the USA because it's an expansion and yes, it's worth getting IMO. I don't know if it's out in the UK yet.

Altight thanks.

Is the strength of this game primarily the multi or single player campaign? Or is it nice and balanced?

lol! Yeah, I may sound like a commercial but I am being honest when I say that I absolutely love this game. It's been taking up all of my playing time now since it was released and I'm still hooked. I haven't felt this way about a game since I played Battlefield 1942 for the first time. happy

Well, that's ok. I don't mind answering the questions.

As for replay value, I think it's equally distributed between the GC game (either SP or MP version) and the MP skirmish game. The campaign is great fun but I personally don't have interest in playing through it again anytime soon.

As for it being "the same as EaW", that's true as far as game mechanics go, but there are many new units available along with a greatly improved AI. IMO that alone makes it worth buying but that's just my opinion.

BTW, I certainly do acknowledge some bugs that are in the game. One example is Rogue Squadron seems to disappear in GC games after they are killed once. That's a bit of an annoyance since they are the unit that is used by the rebels to destroy the Death Star II should the empire build it. With Rogue squadron gone, the rebels can only hope that the consortium uses IG88 to hack the DS2 and destroy it before it is used to destroy too many planets. There are also a few other minor bugs but I imagine most of them will be squashed with a patch or two.

Are you for real? A KJA story widely decried by the community actually appeared in a computer game? Hilarity.

I wait for the mod that makes IG88 takes over the galaxy instead of destroying it.
