the newest patch makes it lag less and optimizes some graphical issues. But still, curiously its got really high requirments.

Obsidian committed gaming suicide with those specs. Ridiculous. For one thing it immediately lost them half the original NWN community.

E_V dont worry, its a pretty neat game if your computer can handle it. Sadly, the specs are crazy compared to what they should be, i dont know why they are so high. But its a solid game. The only gripe i have about it is the ending. And also they dont have a lot of classes to choose from after the basic fighter types, their prestige classes suck. Some of them do, anyway. Red Dragon Disciple is ok, it pretty much adds 10 str and a few other stats after 10 levels and gives to some ac and the ability to breath fire. so 1 bard/4 fighter/10 RDD/ 5 frenzied Berzerker, and you have a pwntacular character there. Im currently replaying as that right now to go down the evil path and see if the evil ending is any better :/ but im using dual falchions and using a few cheats just to liven up the game, and taking a few feats youd get as a Weapon Master so now my critical range is from 13-20 x3. So when i roll a 13 i get a critical that does 3 times as much damage
Anyway. Just give it a chance.

....that made no sense at all.
All this D&D stuff in the game is confusing as hell. Good to know that it sounds like its still a decent game, just the endings suck.

I play a bunch of various rpgs. Not DnD specifically, but the d20 SWRPG, GURPS, M&M, Stargate, Battletech, and a few custom ones we've created.
Learning curve can be a little steep, but they're fun. Also, knowing the rules help you powergame in KotOR/NWN oh so well

I've never played a D&D game before, I knew it was heavily immersed in it, but I figured that the computations and so on would be like any other RPG.
Is it possible to level up your bow by shooting at a target again and again? Also the whole world map transistion thing, is it possible to skip that? Cause I was under the impression the walk to Fort Locke would be long and dangerous and instead I warped there in two stops.

No. You get XP by killing things and doing quests, then you level up and can select feats and things. Played KOTOR? Similar but more complex/flexible system.

aye, you have 20 'character levels', each time you level up you get skill points to invest in mostly non-combat oriented skills. Your chance to hit and dodge increase as you go. Faster if you take a fighting kind of class, slower for a magicky/sneaky kind of class.
So you level up as a whole, rather than in seperate areas at a time.
E_V, might be worth checking out the first game too, cos that does rock, and is available with expansion sets for a very reasonable price considering you get 40+ hours of gameplay

I've got the first game though I never did get far in it as the resolution ended up giving me a headache each time I played it.
I've got a level 6 Ranger (no subclass) whose an expert with the bow and I was wondering is there a good prestige class for that? Or should I just stick with ranger? I am following the "good path" this round and I think I'll fall in love with the evil side as it seems even funner than in KOTOR2. I mean having the option to slit peoples throats in the beginning? Hell yeah.
When I export my character then everything my character has, etc. will go into the MP arena right? Cause if so I'll just export at level 20...

Assuming it's like the first, you can export as many times as you want. It just makes a copy.
As for multiclassing, if you're an elf, there's arcane archer. Not spectacular, but they work. My personal ranger combo is ranger/rogue--more skill points and sneak attacks are nice.

Why does 20 have to be the cap? I don't get it, the last expansion pushed it to level 40 and it was pretty cool. I have like 12 level 40 characters, all pretty badass.
I bet they push it for the next time.
