Fasa Studios has put up a teaser. We should see more come E3.
Last I heard about this game was a rumor that it would be a FPS. Here.
I have worked on many projects, ranging from PC games to console, FPS to role-playing. Right now, I am animating for an Xbox 2 project called Shadowrun. It's a first-person shooter based on an old paper RPG of the same name from a couple decades ago.
For those unfamilar wihtt the gameworld.
Shadowrun was a cross between Lord Of The Rings and Cyberpunk(The Matrix). In the near future where Corporations are the goverment, magic returns to the world and causes many changes. With the arrival of magic the Native Indian tribes used their new power to regain much of their land, leaving North America fragmented. You had Elves and Orcs running around with submachine guns, decked out with cybernetic implants. Dragons runnig crime syndicates, people jacking into cyberspace and hacking computer systems. Shadowrunners were the dregs of society that would do questionable jobs for anonymous employers called "Mr. Johnsons". Jobs would be anything from "Corporte Extractions" (Breaking into a corporation to free a valuable company employer who is defecting to the competition), Data Recoverery, assasinations, ect.
There were various classes:
Street Samurai: The hired gun, fighter, brawler
Decker: Computer hacker
Rigger: Mechanic who would drive/fix vehicles and machines
Street Shamon: Urban tribal magic user
Mage: Wizard
And some more that I'm probably missing.
E3 can't come soon enough.

That's all I can think to say! This is like... finding out Lucasarts is making a new X-wing game. Or suddenly Fallout 3 is being made. Or that Duke Nukem Forever is actually DONE!
Shadowrun is one of the most coolest and original games I have ever played. One of the best games for the SNES too... I am very very happy to hear it's making a comeback.

This will be good I hope. I remember the old video gamesfor shadowrn and they were good. I even ran the RPG with some friends. fun game. I hope it comes back and is good.

Out of all the games that I've played there have been only two that I could play through over and over and over again. FF Tactics and Shadowrun for the Genesis. I loved that game. Genesis Shadowrun was one of my favorite if not my favorite game from the Snes/Genesis days. I have many a fond memory of coming home, hammered at 5 in the morning and playing Shadowrun till I passed out.

Fallout 3 is being made.
I'm intrigued by this, though only because I've read a bit about the universe (one of my friends used to run a PnP game); never played the console games.
This could be like Deus Ex, but cooler.

I always thought Deus Ex took some of it's legacy from Shadowrun and Cyberpunk.
Also the Matrix was originally to be based on Shadowrun, specifically a short story about a child hacker. They lost the rights and did their own thing. You can see the terminology everywhere though. The Matrix itself is a term from the game universe.

Bethesda of Morrowind and Oblivion fame bought the rights when Interplay went down and said they were working on it. Don't think there's much released on what it's actually going to be like yet.

Gotta say I'm a bit disapointed. But some Shadowrun is better then no Shadowrun. Who knows it might actualy turn out ok.

Finally got to see a video of the game in action...... just awful. They really dropped the ball on this. They had a huge game world, enriched with all kinds of source material. The sky was the limit there was so many avenues they could have pursued. Instead they chucked it all out the window and made mini arenas to fight in. And how do you make a Shadowrun without any decking?
The actual game play looks like a poor mans Unreal Championship. If the game play had been solid I might still be interested but damn, this thing is a dog. The thing that kills me is that the 360 will be a console flooded with FPS. Why take a PnP RPG and turn it into a subpar shooter. Why not make a game that will play to the consoles weakness and make a RPG or semi-RPG.
