I want Megaman, I want Zero, I want Phoenix Wright, I want a Belmont or Soma, I want Sonic I want Tails, I want a axe and a lance weilder from Fire Emblem, I want Issac from Golden Sun, I want FF characters, Hell give me Ryu and Ken while you're at it and Crash and Batman and Legolas and Sammy Davis Jr and Van Morrison and LITTLE MAC

You're forgetting a FF character (Cloud, I'm not sure about this name) surely we need to get in those FF fanboys as well 
I really think Mega Max (either X or original) and Zero should be in it.
Still Pit looks great though, he can be ranged and melee. Samus also looks great

Really, as cool as it would be to reunite the canon Captain N supporting cast (Pit, Mega Man and Simon Belmont), I think Sonic is the one that's required. People have been waiting 15+ years to pit Mario vs Sonic, and it's possibly finally here- it's not just epic, it's historical. The 16-bit wars may finally have their endnote...three generations later, hehe.

I love the part of the trailer where Mario, Link, and Pikachu all get upgraded from their Gamecube versions to their Wii versions. Then, when Kirby goes to do it, he looks exactly the same and looks around confused. Classic!

Oh Hell hell HELL yes!
So many good memories of me and my buddies playing Melee till all hours of the night, even with classes the next day 
With online multiplayer, it ought to still be possible to play with them! Wiiii!
I hope Nintendo is pulling out the stops to try to get Sonic in this game. As Quest said, it's just... neccessary.
My dream list includes (but not neccessarily limited to):
Mario
Link (Shadow Link is in full shadow)
Luigi (With significantly different moves from his brother)
Zelda/Shiek
Samus (Zero/Prime/Fusion/spandex/Phazon suits instead of color changes)
Fox
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Bowser
Wart
Peach
Ganondorf (faster)
Pikachu
Kirby
Sonic
Megaman (changing his colors is almost too easy)
Simon Belmont
Pit
Crono 
Marth
Ridley/Meta Ridley (I can dream, can't I?)
The only thing I didn't like about Melee's list was all the duplicate characters. Especially the Mario ones. No reason for young link for example. Yeah the moves were tweaked... but not enough.
