I ordered a jewel case Jedi Academy game off of Amazon, but what's the difference between this and the regular version?

It comes in a jewel case. I remember the good old days when PC games came in giant ceral boxes with flaps and sometimes little velcro buttons.

A jewel case is a CD case, so you will have no box or manual, just the CD in a case.

usually means the game is stolen and they dont have the case/manual to go with it. happens to gamestop/eb all the time. but they dont care - so why should we?

Stolen? Hardly. Not many people keep boxes after they buy games and manuals are easily lost.
Not to mention that if a seller gets a bulk lot from some software distributor that went bankrupt they might only get the CDs.

and perhaps a simple explaination of what it is and what it does. I think it wont solve all stupid threads and questions, but it might solve a few and if so, I believe it would be well worth it.

Also, it's probably cheaper to ship just the CD in its case than with the entire box.
