I'm pretty sure it's safe to keep the 360 on for longer than an hour at a time. I wouldn't recommend going over six.

You have to have it on for at least 14 hours to get a certain achievement on Dead Rising. *sigh*

Got my 360 back  after it being lost to the RROD, working just fine.
Only took three weeks to complete the process. Very happy with the way they responded.
I have finally been able to start Mass Effect now, very enjoyable game.

Resident Evil 4 coming to 360/PS3?
Man, if this game has Achievements, I might end up playing through it a third time (GameCube, Wii, 360). I'm so ashamed, but it's such a fantastic game:
Remember when this was a GameCube exclusive? This was the least exclusive game in the history of exclusive games.
That said, bring it on. This is a game everyone should play, and I'd love to see it in HD with good textures (at the very least). Resi 4 was awesome in 480 progressive...can only dream how sexy it'll be at the higher numbers.
Capcom loves to re-release Resident Evil games almost to the point of self-parody, and shows no signs of stopping now, if rumors are to be believed. According to a poster at The Horror, Resident Evil 4: Classic Edition could be hitting the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles before long.
According to the sketchy details, the game would feature series-obscurity Hunk more than ever before, possibly giving him his own scenario in a manner similar to Ada Wong's subplot on the PS2/PC/Wii versions of the game.
At the moment, this is pure rumor, but given Capcom's fetish for porting Resident Evil games, and the fact that 360 owners have thus far gone without a version of RE4, it's not far at all from the realm of believability...especially with Resident Evil 5 on the horizon for both next-gen consoles.

The big deal with the exclusivity-thing is that Capcom didn't want their pride and joy to get raped downgrading it for the PS2. The GameCube version, while it still sold well, wasn't enough to justify the exclusivity, and they almost had no choice but to port it over.
They had no problem with the Wii port because they could do brand new stuff with the controller. I'd imagine special features, getting the chance to show off their RE5 graphics engine -- not to mention making a little bit of cash on the side while that game's still in development -- would be sufficient justification for a 360 port.

After MTV News broke the news on Microsoft designing a Nintendo Wii-like Wiimote for the Xbox 360, 8bitjoystick felt it was time to give up their secrets as well. Not only do they confirm that the project exists, but they can give up the codename for it: Newton. Jesus was kind enough to mock up a version of the controller based on MTV's sketch.
Jake also says that Microsoft has recently licensed patents from Gyration, maker of those gesture mice we all know and don't really care about. Nintendo did the same back in 2001 in order to help develop their own Wiimote.
The 360mote will also receive signal from an LED sensor bar (like the Wii), but one-ups the Wiimote by having a microphone on board for Xbox Live chat. He doesn't have many other solid points of data—there are guesses about it using the standard rechargeable battery pack and what colors it will have—but he does think the target date of late '08 looks very likely. 8bitjoystick.
Wii would like to play.

My wireless router no longer works and I'm trying to get on Xbox Live. I have a cable modem. I thought all I would have to do is unplug my computer cable from the modem and then replace it with my 360 ethernet cable, thus connecting the console directly to the modem.
However, I still couldn't get online. The "test connection" feature said that I wasn't getting an IP.

Did you reboot the modem? Sometimes when you disconnect from one device and reconnect to another one I've noticed that you won't be able to use the internet properly until you reset the connection (turn the modem off then back on).

I do the same thing with my 360's connection. When I want to play my 360 online, I will unplug the computer's ethernet cable as well as the power cable for the modem. Then I connect the 360's ethernet cable and the power cable and it works just fine.

Yeah, resetting the modem usually solves that problem. If there's not a considerable distance between your 360 and the PC, you should get yourself a small 4-6 ethernet hub and connect the 360's ethernet cable to it.
