	How shocking is this? We're being forced into the mentality where we consider 'upgrading' to a newer console. You're not doing it just for the hard drive space, you're also doing it for some extra peace of mind about not getting the RROD aren't you? 	Not really. I want the bigger space is all, and for the price of a separate 120GB, I might as well spend a bit extra and get an Elite and loan my old one to my brother or something. Upgrading consoles has been done for years anyway. How many people "upgraded" to the PS1 and PS2 slim? 	Modded 360 consoles are now getting banned from Xbox LIVE. Also, Kotaku's report on the situation. The ban is permanent. A lot of people on another board I recently visted (that specializes in legally-fuzzy territory) are freaking out and pitching a fit. It's hilarious. People are getting seriously pissed that Microsoft would actually have the gall to take steps that prevent people from stealing games from them. I've read some stories on the Xbox forums where people who got their RRoD-ed boxes fixed locally, rather than sending them Microsoft, also got banned. Another guy said all he did was open up his unit to retrieve a stuck disc. Grain of salt on some of these stories, but it looks like pretty much anybody who so much as cracked the case of their 360 got tossed. -----signature----- "If there's one thing I hate, it's losing. 	lol @ all the bans of modded 360s... ...except at work now I have to field all sorts of questions about if our used 360s are modded or not and we also have to be super careful about taking 360s in trade in case the people who got banned try to foist their modded, banned systems on us to get new 360s... -----signature----- I'm pretty much a BioWare fangirl. 	Up to a million bans.. that's a huge number, and all we ever hear about is how piracy is killing the PC game. But how many are just consoles that have been modded for other reasons I wonder. 	I believe those that mod for non-piracy reasons are members of a fairly small community, and accepted voiding the warranty going in.
