I'm not sure about the graphics... Saints Row looks better.
I'm not getting any impression that this game will be any different than the previous three, it just looks a bit better.

According to the article I posted a few posts back, the game is going to be a lot different. And the trailer is great. Oh man, I really need a PS3.

A review for Vice City and/or San Andreas summed up the quality of the graphics very nicely: They're not top of the line high quality graphics, especially if you look at details (such as butt ugly trees), but as a whole they create a beautiful whole world with a lot of atmosphere.
In a way, I'm glad. The first trailer made it look like it eats hardware in its sleep, but by now it could run on a lot of systems - if it comes out for PC.
Who buys a GTA game for the graphics, anyway?

Indeed. And, for a GTA, the graphics look absolutely awesome (even having in mind that we are in 2007).

Vice City and San Andreas looked great on the PS2 and Xbox when they first came out, but this one the graphics look like they've gone a step backwards compared to some of the stuff out there.
It probably has to do with the fact that there will be no loading at all in the whole city.
And who buys GTA for the graphics? Everyone does! Do you think we'd still be happy with the 2D view?

The jump from 2D to 3D was huge compared to the minor graphical improvements we get today.
Quite frankly, I'm happy the new GTA looks as good as it does. The PS2 GTAs were starting to really look old.

VC/SA looked horrible on PS2. Still great games, but them looking bad wasn't PC-specific.
But then again, I am mainly a PC gamer, so maybe I'm unfairly comparing PS2 graphics to PC graphics.
But SA looked terrible.

I still play GTA 2. And I never bought a GTA game for the graphics... They aren't horrible, but they're bad compared to other games from the same period. I always played GTA for the freedom that we have and the enormous amount of stuff we have to explorer. And this new GTA looks very promising regarding that.

GTA IV has been delayed until mid-2008.
That'll be a huge blow for the PS3, with so few big games coming out this year.

I couldn't care less about it being a blow to the PS3.
I want this game. And now I'm going to have to wait until mid-2008.

Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Kane & Lynch, Call of Duty 4... I think I'm set until then.

The general feeling I've seen across different forums is more or less "oh good, it means I've got more time/money to play Bioshock/Mass Effect/Halo 3/whatever."
And that's pretty much the feeling I have. There are so many other big games coming out soon, I really don't care.
There doesn't seem to be a big feeling of disappointment.
