Just played some of John Woo's stranglehold. I have to say, pretty fun. I can see a lot of the innovations used in this game used for a Jedi game. Imagine being in standoff mode, but instead of dodging incoming bullets and aiming your guns, you are aiming your lightsaber to intersect blaster bolts and send them back, and dodge projectiles or use the force to hurl projectiles back. This game should definitely be looked at before the next Jedi game is done. Insanely addictive gameplay.

After playing Halo 3 for the past week, I've just realized how awesome a Republic Commando 2 would be. This time they need drivable vehicles and a new timespan like maybe Galactic Civil War (hence, Imperial Commando).

I would love too see an RPG done during the New Jedi Order series, the Rebellion, or the Clone Wars. Create-a character would be nice as well as muli-player.

My star wars games wishlist that I wish that would come true...

1. Star Wars Original Trilogy- same gameplay like the Jedi Knight series. have one game be released every year starting with New Hope. Empire Strikes Back would be the best one since you would be traveling around Hoth, Dagobah and the dark smoky levels of Bespin. Have an awesome interactive lightsaber duel against Darth Vader just like we have been doing in Jedi Outcast

2. Han Solo and Chewbacca- some kind of spin off adventure game where Han and Chewie are chosen for some mission. Mostly space fights and some on foot traveling on planets with secret easter eggs and stuff

3. a decent Obi Wan Kenobi game where it would take place after Revenge of the Sith and Obi is tryin to stay out of sight but he gets involved in some stuff. Sounds a little too familiar to Force Unleashed I guess but hey it would be great to see what Obi wan was doing while trying to hide from Vader

Actually, you forgot to mention the Sega Star wars Arcade game, released around 98-99 if Im not mistaken, that was most definitely a star wars classic trilogy game. It is still common to find it in arcades like dave and busters and the like. I'm not against another trilogy game, Id just like to see it done in a new and different format than another trilogy action game. Personally, Id love to see a trilogy game done in the final fantasy tactics RPG style, for one of the hand held consoles, perhaps.

Personally, in my opinion, we have played the various trilogy battles a hundred times in most of the games they release. Id say over half the star wars games ever released have either the trench run, the battle of Hoth, the battle of endor, or the death star two duct run in them. I would much rather see a han solo game that takes place before the trilogy, adding to the story and character, then just retelling something ive already played a dozen times in various ways, and can always pop in a DVD and watch on the tv.

As for Vader's apprentice, well he DIDNT have one that we knew about, but he does now. Is it really that hard to buy into? He invited luke to be his apprentice in ESB, after all. Clearly, he was interested in having one. Who is to say he didnt have one prior? If you say George Lucas, well Lucas personally approved The Force Unleashed, its characters, and the story/plot. He was actually a big part of this particular game, as is repeated ad infinitum on the force unleashed website.

Anyway, Im not against another trilogy game, Id just rather see something new, then something remade. Hollywood already gives me enough remakes for my tastes.

Alright, came up with another cool game concept that would translate well to a Star Wars game. A capital ship battle game. Star Wars: Grand Admiral, or Fleet Wars, or something. Basically, the game would focus on you managing fleet scale battles, that would be the primary dynamic. Real movement in 3D space, great depth of orders to various units/individual ships, starfighter squadrons/wings.

For instance, youll be able to order starfighters to do the following to an area and/or specific ship or group of ships as appropriate: escort, patrol, screen, engage, cover, strafe, defend an area, etc. With capital ships, you will also have a variety of manuevers and paths that you can arrange. Each squadron/ship will also have some kind of AI that increases in intelligence as it gains experience under your command, so if you aren't giving it direct orders, you can rely on them to act on their own to a degree within the plan of your overall strategy, setting several presets that act as standing orders. You can also create your own and predesignate a number of formations or maneuvers for your ships.

I'm picturing a variety of mission types and orbital terrains, land-based and/or asteroid based objectives as well as a lot of media/special characters. Rebels can play as ackbar, imperials as thrawn or whoever else they want to use from the existing grand admirals, maybe saesee tiin or plo koon for the old republic, and grievous for the CIS.

I think a game focused on the strategic and tactical picture of combat would be a lot of fun for people, especially us older fans that arent able to keep up online with the kids when it comes to twitchier games like battlefront.

1. KOTOR 3 (not multiplayer and eventually for PC)
2. Jedi Knight 3 (if Jedi Academy was the last installment, that will be a terrible end to a great franchise of game)
3. How about a first person shooter that would revolutionize everything like HL2 in 2004 or Crysis this year?

Why is it that when I play HL2 Episode 2, I find myself wanting a Star Wars game to be as cool? Why do they all have to be based on engines from 2-3 years ago?

KOTOR III: This one is a no-brainer. Let's wrap up Revan's story already.

Knights of the New Republic: Admit it, the idea is a cool one.

A new Dark Forces game: Because Kyle Katarn is awesome. Have it set during the Vong War with no contrived "learning the Force again" crap. That would be sweet. Problem is, Force Unleashed is kinda taking up the current saber/Force action game place at the moment....

Battlefront III: Another no-brainer. Alternatively, a Battlefront-style game in the KOTOR era would be interesting.

A Mara Jade game set during her time as the Emperor's Hand: It'll be like Splinter Cell with Force powers!

Imperial Commando: An elite stormtrooper unit carrying out dangerous missions for the Empire? I'm in.

A Star Wars fighting game: Remember the Revenge of the Sith game's multiplayer? Kinda like that, but more refined, and featuring characters from all eras. Obviously Infinities, but a fanboy dream come true.

I always thought it would be cool to redo the original Dark Forces game. Give it an engine like Gears of War. I think this would be a great way to revisit some of the original trilogy. I would defiantly love to see a sequel to Republic Commando( Most underrated SW game).

How about a game called Star Wars: Jedi. In this game you start out as a young apprentice and through missions and training become a Jedi Knight. Each level would start with you at the Jedi Temple on Courasant. In the temple you can hone your force abilities or train your light saber skills. At first your Jedi Master selects the missions that you will go on together. Eventually you become a Jedi and are given your own missions. It would be real cool if your character aged too, so you start out around Anakin's age from TPM and end up as an adult. This could be the first time players can experience the Jedi Trails. I think it is important that this game revolve around the time of the prequels. Before TPM possibly.

Yeah it kinda is. But imagine way better graphics. The ability to explore the jedi temple and not having the choice to go bad. If you create a character that starts out young you really get a chance to develop that character into a powerful Jedi. I imagine the first part of the game having your jedi master in control of the objectives with you more of a sidekick. As the game goes on and your character ages you become more involved and eventually face the trials to become a jedi knight. The difference between this and JKIII would be the that this game would be more open like the Spider man games and Superman game.

Yesss. So many good candidates for a fighter in the series now. Big untapped potential here.

A new fighter would be great. Especially if they really kept the animations true to star wars. Heres a preliminary character list, I figure the tekken games have had like 50 characters, so here goes.

Luke
Han
Leia
Chewbacca
Lando
Boba Fett
Mara Jade
Obi-Wan (old and young?)
Anakin/Vader
Nogrhi warrior
Lumiya
Arden Lyn
Jeng Droga
Kyle Katarn

Padme
ARC Trooper Alpha
Kal Skiratta
Jango Fett
Zam Wessel
Aurra Sing
Separatist Grappler Droid
Mace Windu
Yoda
Ki Adi Mundi
Darth Maul
Plo Koon
Saesee Tiin
Count Dooku
General Grievous

Then as hidden unlockable characters? maybe Phow Ji from the medstar books, a major teras kasi practitioner, and maybe also the teras kasi guy from the new death star novel. To me this sounds like a good mix of well known characters and some obscure EU ones. Of course tossing in Jacen, Jaina or anakin solo could be nice, as well as Bossk or Dengar, Tenel Ka, Guri, or any number of lukes jedi order.
