games.net posted: With rumors of Lego Indiana Jones along with two other Lego games, we may be headed towards a future in which all licenses are done in Lego form.
I must admit, a Lego Short Round would be awesome.
There's a rumor rumbling round Kotaku that LucasArts is set to announce a few new titles this week at E3, one being another spinoff to the company's cash cow of late: Lego adaptations of movies. This one? Lucas' "other" blockbuster movie franchise, Indiana Jones.
Now, normally, a rumor like this would have me tickled pink, but I'm starting to think that LucasArts and developer Traveller's Tales have milked the concept so hard that the udders are starting to bleed. There's the recently-announced Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, which is not the droid (ie- Wii lightsaber title) we were looking for despite the glowing praise IGN has heaped upon it. Warner Brothers has also commissioned a Lego Batman game, which could stem the tide of bad Bat-games. We haven't seen much of it, but the two-player action could lend itself well to the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin. Also, since the game's not tie
Now comes a rumored Lego Indiana Jones iteration. The idea of using the Wii Remote as a whip may be appealing, but what else does the movie franchise have to lend to the Lego formula? There's no real substantial sidekicks that would make multiplayer believeable--sorry, but Short Round, Indy Sr., and that dude that got creamed at the beginning of Raiders don't quite cut it. We'll see what Lucas has on tap later this week, but barring a revolutionary new Lego engine, Indy could be the License of Doom.
Cynical article. Seeing the real new Indy game isn't PC bound, I'd happily take a tongue in cheek romp through the LEGO version of his world. Though could be hard with no Nazis (still, they could be replaced by generic baddies).

I'd expect any sort of announcement to be around holidays or the beginning of next year.

Smarty Pants. Mind's mush right now.
Anyhoo...
Reported by theforce.net :
Probably the biggest new to come from the Lucasfilm presentation is that we can expect a Lego: Indiana Jones video game in the summer of 2008. Comic-Con fans in attendance were then treated to the first ever glimpse of the trailer for the game.
Considering the LEGO sets will be Nazi-less according to inside info, it will be interesting to see what enemies the game uses in the (assumed) Raiders & Last Crusade levels.
Official site with trailer & press release.

Best to change the thread title to something like: "LEGO Indiana Jones (2008) - Discussion and Speculation"
Or to be more witty, we could try...
"LEGO Indiana Jones: Bricks? Why'd it have to be bricks?"
"LEGO Indiana Jones: It's not the bricks, honey. It's the mileage"
"LEGO Indiana Jones: I said no bricks! That's five bricks! Can't you count?"
"LEGO Indiana Jones: Don't you see? The brick is mightier than the sword!"
and so on...

Where are you getting this inside info from? I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the sites you linked to.

Source. Unconfirmed, but that's why I said 'rumoured';
badger posted: As I only attended (Brickfest on) Sunday, I wasn't present for the The LEGO Company Q&A, but Armothe gave me the skinny on their response to the biggest question we've all had as of late: how will they handle German figs in the new Indy sets? Answer: they're not. No soldier figs at all, and no elements associated with them. It's a decision I agree with for a few reasons. While it's somewhat of a cheat, it avoids what would have undoubtedly become a controversial issue ("The figs aren't accurate!" "This fig is offensive and not in keeping with company policy!") and keeps the focus on the adventure aspect of the character rather than the surrounding historical context the films.

Ahh, ok. Thanks!
I just have a hard time picturing Indiana Jones without Nazi's, but I understand their reasoning.
