After this, I caught a Nidoran of the male variety named PIMP (who was swapped out for a respectable female) and a Spearow I decided to call RED 5. Right now, the team looks like this:
BIRDO- Pidgey, level 9
THAT RAT- Pikachu, level 10
THIS RAT- Rattata, level 9
PIMP- Nidoran (male), level 9
SPANK- Mankey, level 9
RED 5, Spearow, level 9

I havent played Yellow in ages, but Im pretty sure Nidoran is capable of beating Brock if trained enough.

Double kick right? Works as well except Nidoran is a poison type not only are ground types super effective against poison types, double kick doesn't receive a STAB because double kick is a fighting type move.
Also in the R/B/Y generation Psychic > all, so leveling a poison is suicidal.
And yes that was definitely one of my nerdiest posts.

I never liked butterfree vs Brock, always seemed less effective then Mankey. Ah well which ever you pick we'll replace him with Abra anyway
