Well I just finished Half Life 2. Loved it when the gravity gun was repowered. The story confused me even more with its ending but I cant wait to jump into the episodes now.
Explain to me which bit confused you, ill try to explain.
Well the entire thing was a little confusing though I think thats mainly because I never played Half-Life 2. The main thing was who the heck exactly is the old guy whom wikipedia informs me is the G-Man and whats his importance ot the story?

No one actually knows who the G-Man is, or at least I don't. He seems to be a central figure in the whole thing though as he's in HL1 as well. I'm guessing we'll find out who he is in Episode 3. Either that or we'll find out enough to lead into HL3.

All we know is that G-man is some kind of Agent, who recruits Gordon Freeman at the end of the first Half-life. Know one knows who he is, or who he works for.
Thats why if you ever die in Hl2, a screen comes up saying "Subject: Gordon Freeman Status: Terminated"

finally just beat hl2:episode 2 which leaves only one question: When is episode 3 gonna come out? And also, will you finally get to have sex with Alyx? Those are the two top questions in my mind right now. Not necessarily in the order i listed them.

they just often take longer than they announce
I think they did say once they aren't giving a release date for Episode 3 far in advance
after all, they had a joke about it in "Still Alive" ("and we're out of beta; we're releasing on time")
