Anyone really looking forward to this game? I played the demo and found it extremely fun to kill people with a chicken. For those who haven't heard here is some information about it.
A team of US scientists makes a frightening discovery on an island in the South China Sea. All contact with the team is lost when the North Korean Government quickly seals off the area.
The US responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force Operators to recon the situation. As tension rises between the two nations, a massive alien ship reveals itself in the middle of the island. The ship generates an immense force sphere that freezes a vast portion of the island and drastically alters the global weather system.
Now the US and North Korea must join forces to battle the alien menace. With hope rapidly fading, you must fight epic battles through tropical jungle, frozen landscapes, and finally into the heart of the alien ship itself for the ultimate Zero G showdown.
* A unique three-act structure forces the player to use real-time armor and weapons customization to adapt constantly to an ever-changing world.
* Encounter a frightening and totally original alien species—they use their senses intelligently and work together to present the most challenging enemy yet in an FPS.
* Control of a variety of land, sea, and air vehicles including trucks, tanks, boats, and helicopters.
* Explore a living, dynamic world where earthquakes, breaking ice, landslides, and tornados pose an ever-present threat.
* 32-player multiplayer with real-time armor and weapons customization, plus an all-new multiplayer mode that combines player modification and tactical objectives.
* Emergent gameplay means that in-game actions affect future outcomes and give each player a unique experience.
* Highly robust and easy-to-use mod toolset allows players to create their own expansive levels for both multiplayer and single-player modes.
* The CryENGINE 2 engine delivers the most realistic environments, spectacular special effects, physics game engine, lighting system, and enemy Al.

Over at another site, someone posted images that seemed very close to real life. I'm somewhat suspicious about that, so can anyone post some images?

You mean like this stuff? Yeah, those are gameplay shots. But you'll need an absolute beast of a PC to make it look like that. Given a year, though, I bet you could build a reasonably priced rig that'll make it look that good.

Yeah this game has the best graphics in any current game. However apparently even the most powerful domestic computer cant PROPERLY play the game with everything maxed out.

I can play most things on high and still get a FPS rate around 20. I feel special.

Seeing as how the demo's been available for a while, is anyone else playing this? I just got it today and have been having a blast with it. Crytek really hit a homerun with this game, as everything from the graphics to the gameplay is superb.

I was never able to get the demo to run properly. After the opening island-approach cutscene, the whole system froze and I had to turn it off manually. So no, I haven't looked into getting the game.

I haven't played the demo or the game, but from the looks of the videos I've seen, this is good (it helps that I've always had a preference for supersoldier-type games).

What's your computer like, and how is it doing with the game?
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 GHz
2 gigs of ram
GeForce 8800 GTS with 320MB of ram
The settings defaulted to medium on my computer and I haven't had any slowdowns yet. I also haven't pushed the graphics any higher yet either, but I doubt that I'll really be able to go any higher without the framerate tanking.

I'm playing it with maxed out graphics.
Here are my two favorite shots on less than maxed out graphics (AA2x and shadows at medium, but everything else is "ultra high."
