Civil War game would probably be too controversial. The American Revolution has the potential to be interesting, but the weapons are probably too primitive to make for an exciting game.

WWI you would run out of the trench and get mowed down, unless you want to do something like the Eastern Front which would force you to either fight for the Kaiser or the Tsar...
Korea would feel way too much like WWII, and it's called "the forgotten war" for a reason so I doubt game companies are inclined to make a game based on it.

History Channel Civil War had you fighting on both sides, so it wasn't that controversial. Too bad the gameplay sucked. Wars prior to WWI should be left to strategy games.

How about a mideast Israeli scenario like the Sinai, Yom Kippor, 6 Day War and Golan Heights, etc.... Timeline would make the weapons still fun but not as modern as COD4 and there is a lot of possibilities for different maps, especially if they included vehicles.
Otherwise I would have to vote for Vietnam perhaps.

I seriously doubt they would make that.

They could still keep WWII fresh if they take the plunge into the Pacific theater. Not that they ever would. Not enough undeniably evil Nazis to kill.

I think the problem with the pacific would be making different maps. Most would be jungle and get boring. Manilla is the only real urban battle.

Froggy22651 posted: WWII is seriously overdone. I wouldn't mind another modern warfare game, but there are other time periods and wars to explore. I don't think going into the future is a particularly good idea, but there are, as has been mentioned, WWI, the Korean War, and Vietnam. Heck, I wouldn't mind if they did something risky and crazy like the American Civil War or, dare I say it, Call of Duty 5: Medieval Warfare.
Call of Duty: JCC Warfare.
Now that is a game i would buy.

Battlefield 1942 is still great. The gameplay was revolutionary at the time and it actually featured maps from every single front out there. Unlike most games.

I'm so sick of WWII - yes it was big, but we've been though it so many times.
How about a game based on something really random, like the Spanish Civil War, or the Gulf War. That could be fun, if you fudge history a bit and beef the enemy up.

The first Call of Duty was the king of WW2 games back in the day.
