I don't think this will be called number 5. Infinity Ward is holding on to the numbered versions from what I've heard.

I can't wait for this game. I'm particularly excited that this game will be going back to WWII and giving us a taste of the Pacific war. IMO the gaming industry has, for the most part, ignored the Pacific war of WWII for far too long. I mean when the best Pacific war game we have is MOH Pacific Assault...well, that's just sad.

Jack Bauer is playing the voice of the American soldier according to the activision press conference. He better be torturing the Japanese and finding out where the bomb is or something.

So the Americans will have to storm the pacific within 24 Hours?
I want more infomation on the Soviets, there missions on Call of Duty and United Offense were the best, two seemed to have lost the gleem a little and three well. I hated three.

Sounds pretty good. Still wish it wasn't based in WW2, though.
Now if it was set in Vietnam, I'd buy it no questions asked(As long as it has the COD4 engine just like this one). Too many based in WW2, not enough in Vietnam.

Because companys know that games set around Vietnam are gaming suicide. Name one Vietnam era game that has gone one to gain critial acclaim?

Yeah but that didn't really have a set story line did it. And it was the weakest of the Battlefield series to be honest. The only thing worth while was the game music.
Anyway getting back onto the Call of Duty and the era setting thing.

It seems like Infinity Ward is working on a new sci fi shooter....beyond that they won't say anything about it being a CoD game or how sci-fi its going to be.

Am I the only person not ready for the next CoD game? I'm enjoying CoD4 enough right now...I don't need to buy a new game anytime soon.

As someone mentioned before, Battlefield Vietnam. As for your reply to it, that's your personal opinion, a lot of other people loved it and it gets mostly positive reviews on gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefieldvietnam/index.html . All it needs is updated graphics and AI and it would probably be the best.
As for it being gaming suicide, the Battlefield series is still going strong after it, so I guess that takes that out.
There has been a lot of holler for a Vietnam Call of Duty, so who knows, maybe they'll actually make one. They're certainly running out of ideas if they keep repeatedly coming back to the WW2-era, so they might be more open to making one just to make something new.

That's because the Battlefield series isn't a fixed storyline game, you try and create a Vietnam game with a storyline hoping to come out with the gaming verison of the Deer Hunter and you fail.
Anyway, back onto the next CoD.
X-Box 360 Gameplay.
Co-Op Gameplay.
Both of the videos are from the Pacific campaign of the game, haven't fount any videos to do with the Easten Front (which makes me cry because Soviet Union vs Nazi Germany in CoD = Epicness.)
Also, check out the flamethrower. What fun to be had.
