I always found it to be more entertaining than the other NES Mario games.

I always found that the soundtrack to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory matched up very well with Super Mario Bros 2.
Flying carpets and taking down cactus creatures works with pure imagination. Of course any Oompa Loompa song matches the shy guys.

I think battlefront is overrated. I also need to play Fallout.

Mario 2 is the underrated member of the series. Something very different from the other Mario's at the time. It was plenty challenging, and left you ticked off when you watched the ending.

Donkey Kong Country 3 is the lesser of the 3 DKC games, but a solid platformer nonetheless.
Devil May Cry is great fun. The story is garbage and the locked camera make it lose points, but it's still a blast to play.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was great. I never beat thanks to the lack of saving on the Genesis, but those first several levels were awesome. Esp. when you got a friend to be Tails and kept ditching him. IIRC that was my first co-op experience.
Max Payne has my comment beneath it. As fun as the bullet time shooting is in Payne it's the story that sets it apart. It has so much fun making a Sin City-esque noir comic in a video game and I love it's drug induced breaking of the 4th wall.
Shadow of the Colossus is awe-inspiring. I think I voted for it and that may be my comment again. I'm not sure.
Fallout is at the top of my list of old games I desperately need to play and Red Alert is on that list too.

I can't believe a Mario game ranked this low. It's blasphemy.
Sims 2, meh. Sure, it's more detailed but it took like 20 minutes to load your character drinking a damn soda.
and Battlefront- one or two, is probably one of the best games ever made.

I think it's more aresult of a limited number of vote room- most people don't want half of your list filled up with Mario games and instead would choose one or two Mario games to represent the fraanchise; few people are going to include SMB2 over 1, 3, World, 64 or Galaxy on their list with those limitations.

- Banjo-Kazooie: One of my favorite games from the N64 era; great to see it make the list. Unfortunately I think I forgot to put it on my own.
- DKC 3: The entire DKC series was great, though I have to agree with rogue_wookiee in the sense that it's probably the weakest of the series. Hopefully we'll see the earlier installments of this series higher up on the list.
- SMB2: Probably the weakest of the early SMB series, though I had fun with it all the same. I swear though, if one of the other two installments of this series isn't in the Top 10 or 20, there's something seriously wrong with you guys.
On another note, it's nice to see updates back again.

RCT is a great game, and the sequel made it better with the bigger beefier coasters and the different coloured balloons.
Banjo was the first 64 game In played, and beat. That quiz at the end was fantastic, I used to lose it on purpose just so i could play it again. Eyrie always made me cry.
But what in seven Corellian hells is FFX doing so low in the count? That game is fantastic and the ending sdequence is one of my faves in ending. What's wrong with you people? I hate to think what the top ten wil be.

That's exactly how I feel about FFX, lol. It's one of my favorite games ever.

I liked FFXII more, but I think FFX is second. Kinda hard to pick between all of them actually.

109. Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES)
Simply a good game. No more.
106. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Arcade Game
Great fun
103. Command and Conquer: Red Alert (PC)
The intro is unbeatable:
Time whill tell, time whill tell.
And then Hell March. It's sooo good.
Should be higher
101. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The best sonic game.Should be higher.
#100 Max Payne
The story is great. But the part that make this one of the best games ever is Bullet-time.
#99 Shadow Of The Colossus
I also really really really really wanna play this game.
#97 Lego Star Wars: the Complete Saga
Great fun.
#95 Fallout (PC)
A mix of Mad Max 2 and A canticle for Leibowitz this story is fantastic. The only thing that would keep this from being the best RPG ever is the relatively smallness of it by todays standards. Should be much higher.
#94 Super Mario Bros. 2
A good game.
#91 The Sims 2
While Rockstar understood the genius of turning the playing with small cars on a carpet into computergaming. EA understood the genius of turning the playing with dolls in the dollhouse into computergaming.

Additionally I would hope most people wouldn't want half or more of the top 25 being Mario games. As it is we're going to have a bunch of barely different Nintendo games on this list. The from the side-scrolling Marios that are extremely similar to the Zelda franchise which hasn't evolved much since Ocarina to the worst offender known to gaming in Smash Bros. which has sequels with less new content than most decent expansion packs.

Gonna have to disagree there- the sheer volume of new content in Brawl could have practically been released as a separate game in of itself.
