Like Reynar said, Resident Evil 4 is kinda overrated. I just like a game that makes me freaked out throughout all the game. But it doesn't measure up to Resident evil 2 for n64 and playstation. IMO, thats the best Resident Evil game by far.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest is a solid platformer, but nothing special. It's pretty, it's fun, but it's still a fluffy collect-o-thon and it started a bad trend of DK games where you don't play as Donkey Kong.
Jedi Academy is a mediocre hack and slash/shooter combo that probably would have been forgotten quickly without the Star Wars name. The story is weak, the lightsaber action is treated like a shooter and the shooting is nothing special. Force powers are sometimes fun, but are not used inventively or interestingly and generally amount to repeating a couple of things over and over again, i.e. force pushing troopers off ledges over and over again. You'd think a galaxy spanning empire could afford some decent railings for their nigh bottomless pits.
Super Mario Kart is a great, fun kart racer. One of my favorite SNES titles and one of my favorite racing games. Only Double Dash comes close to it in terms of the series.
Resident Evil 4 has my comment. It's a great game with a great number of intelligent design choices and is intensely fun to play. I recently beat professional mode which was one of the best challenges I've found in gaming that didn't get annoying. My only major issue is the mediocre storyline. The game isn't overrated. Overhyped, but not overrated.
God of War also has my comment. It's the best hack and slash game ever. End of story. Unlike games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, Sony Santa Monica actually knew how to make a game challenging without making you want to hunt them down and shove a controller down their throat while screaming "Give me a ****ing checkpoint before boss battles!" The story is captivating, the combat is fluid, the art style is amazing and the brutality is refreshing.
I will buy the Orange Box the day I buy a PS3 and Portal will have to wait until I finish Episode 2, but I can't wait.
I'd like to play Diablo II eventually and maybe Street Fighter. Final Fantasy and Zelda are unlikely. I've always found both series to be frequently boring.

I just recently played Super Mario Kart for the Wii and while I had some fun, I find that the roads and stuff are just too strenuous on my eyes and brain. So I love the older, simpler graphics even better. Though I do appreciate the level of design that went into the new game.
Street Fighter II.... I always liked it better than Mortal Kombat. The characters just seemed more charasmatic.
Final Fantasy VI should be higher you silly bastards. It's the greatest RPG I've ever played, though I'm sure ChronoTrigger will make the top 10. The story was perfect and were the characters and music.
God of War 2 isn't as enjoyable as the first one, but it's stll one of the best series in years. The amount of mythology that series can tap into is almost unlimited which makes for future games to be assured some success.

I've said this before, I'll say it again: the rollercoaster levels in DKC2 are some of the funnest levels in any game ever.

street fighter ii and mario kart are the only ones in this bunch that i've played. both were super addictive, especially if you played them with friends.

By that logic up is only up from our perspective. If one goes to Australia then our up is actually down and if I point up and ask you what direction it is you can legitimately say it's down!

The point remains that DKC is the first Donkey Kong where you actually play as the "Donkey Kong (no jr)" of the game's title.
But if you want to count DKJr, then there's still no pattern of having to play as DK in a DK game- it had only happened once prior to DKC, and not even in the preceeding game. So if anything, DKC2 didn't start any new trend, only continued the series norm.
