What do you think? Agree? Disagree?

Also, I just recently picked up the classic flight sim collection (X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance) after confirming that they would work on my machine. They work fine, except that I don't have a joystick! I tried some virtual ones, but couldn't figure out how to set it up. Could someone recommend me a good virtual joystick and tell me how to rig it so that these games would work? I've heard such good things about them and want to give them a try.

When I was little, my dad and I didn't have a joystick, so we played X-Wing with a keyboard and mouse.
We got to level 1-5. It got too hard after that. Then we got a joystick, and we nearly got all the way through the second tour of duty.

Good times.

Dark Forces II & Mysteries of the Sith should be higher.

Also, I can't believe that fricking Star Wars: Demolition is higher than the original Dark Forces.

My brothers and I played through most of X-Wing keyboard/mouse style. One of my brothers actually managed to beat the game using this method. I never could. By the time we got TIE fighter we had wised up and bought a joystick and it was a much more enjoyable experience.

Behind the Magic wasnt really a game. It was more of a mini encyclopedia.

Agreed. I think it was only included because of the trivia questions scattered throughout the menus. Besides, it rocks no matter what Game Rankings says, because until GL wises up and gives the OT a release on par with the PT, Behind the Magic is our only source for ANH's deleted scenes.

Oh, and can someone tell me how to run the X-Wing games with a mouse and keyboard? I thought a joystick was necessary.

I agree that Rebellion is vastly underrated. It's still one of the most fun strategy games I've played.

It's a bit ridiculous how overrated the KOTOR games are. While a fine choice for fans of RPGs, Bioware, and most importantly of all, SW fans, both games are still very flawed titles.

So are all the other games wink

There is a reason why the top games are where they are. They didn't win game of the year awards just for the fun of it.

The top few spots are no-brainers, especially TIE Fighter and KOTOR. I thought Shadows of the Empire was pretty righteous, and that 74% is kind of weak. Dark Forces is underrated here as well. My personal guilty pleasure is Episode 1 Podracer. I thought it was a fresh, unique, racing game with lots of depth.

I don't think a joystick was a requirment until TIE Fighter.

Joystick requirement wasn't until X-Wing versus Tie Fighter.

If you have the revised versions (spiffier graphics on a par with Xwing versus Tiefighter) then you will need a joystick which I found to my dismay. i played tiefighter with a mouse, so much easier to take out mines!

As for other control schemes, I'm really fond of the Freespace 2 method, using the keyboard to move quick and the mouse as a fine tuner.
