Lots of updates.
-There will be Fatalities for the MK characters and the DCU villains. But they will not be over the top ones. They'll push the T rating, but won't go over the line into M.
-The DCU heroes will use Brutalities in keeping with their code of use of lethal force.
-Ravaged Metropolis, Gotham City rooftop, the Batcave, a cemetary and the Hell stage from the MK games will be among the locales. Also looks like we might see the Lin Kuei base.
-A new combo hit system will be put in place that is more along the lines of Street Fighter, than the standard MK practice.
-Confirmed DCU characters; Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Black Canary, Hawkman and Power Girl.
-Confirmed MK characters; Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Rayden, Kitana, Kabal, Jax and Sonya Blade.

Is this actually MK8? Or just a side project?
Anyway, it looks interesting. Being a MK fan I'll definitely pick it up.
I kinda wish they went with the 3D/2D look of SF4 though, it'd work really well with MK.

Qualms with the trailer:
1. Sonya Blade looks as butch as ever.
2. Sub-Zero frozen? (I know its Supes, but still)
3. The supposed Fatality. Thats nice and all (Scorpion hasn't used that one in quite some time) but no charred bones, no Fatality. Flash probably just flops around, a flaming mess.

Wow this game is looking more amazing then ever. I like that it's not just a playable ring, that you can actually keep fighting outside it, that's very rare to find in a fighting game. If there is a customization, does that mean you can use some of the DC characters powers?

Good looking game, but I'm not too keen on how they've rendered Superman. I dunno what it is about him that throws me off, I just don't like it.
That footage is great, though, Sinister.
And I really hope Batman wins in the "canon" storyline, if there is one. 
Like Quest said, Batman has probably already prepared for the eventuality of the DCU and MKU merging.

There will be no enviromental Fatalities. Meaning no Pits, Deadpools, Prison fans and the like. Boon has said that he's been surprised by how much DC and WB have allowed them to get away with. He's also said that the villains will be big time ones. He's also said that this is the eighth MK game in the franchise.
