A few weeks ago on the news there was a story about a certain pc game hitting Japan. The boys in the military play it competatively and make thousands of dollars doing it. They even feature it as a tv show, a live audience watching the boys play.
Theres the top guy, who is amazing at playing it who the Japanese girls described "More famous than Elvis" in their country.
But I think it is a skill worth having, cause it's always super sweet beating someone in a game.

Sure there's 3-D Modeling and Animation, Digital Illustration 3D animation, broadcast graphic design advergaming and storyboard art.

Well, now you're talking about two different things. Being skilled at playing video games does not have much worth. However, being skilled at the talents required to create a video game (some of which you mentioned) certainly do have a lot of worth.

Honestly, one of the closest simulations that hardly feels like a simulation in "learning how to fire a weapon using video-games" must be the FPS Red Orchestra. Haven't touched that in forever, though.
And, strangely, I've learned quite a few things about physics from playing [recent (2004-onward)] video-games. Proven them to myself, to be sure.
