Oh I completely disagree, this is the most fun I've had in the video game forum in a long time!

Yeah, it may have been fun for you, but I was asking a legitimate question and everyone else made a joke about it. Then I go thinking that I'm in contact with an LA staff member...

To be perfectly honest, I thought JanDeis was someone like Nails. And I thought his idea of making a RPG when he has vertually no experience, was a joke in itself. I thought this thread was a p1ss take from the word go. If he's actually serious... it just got funny again. 
And it's not the first time Obi's told a n00b he's from LucasArts, nothing was said last time.

edit = I mean, this will never even get close to being started, let alone actually completed. Come, jokes aside. An RPG, individually and independantly created, that will be bigger and better than a legitimate LucasArts MMORPG?  Good luck.

It's true that it got lame after a couple of days. I only made 4 posts in this thread, 2 which were directed towards JanDeis.
JanDeis, I'm sorry I impersonated a LucasArts employee. What I should have done was impersonated a BioWare employee. That way Quest would have been happy and we could actually get you to come down to Bioware Headquarters and let you present your awesomesauce 1337 skills. I would have laughed my ass off.
But if you think about it, this is really all YOUR fault. You must have that screwed up look on your face right now. Let me explain.

If you really think about it, I am actually doing you a favor. I am in a sense - a teacher, a sensei, a professor, a master, a guide, the force... whatever you want to call it. This was a test and you failed. Remember how luke failed to raise the X-wing in ESB. Remember? Of course you do because you are just like Luke. You must be saying in your mind - but Luke comes back in ROTJ and saves the day. Wrong again, you will never be ROTJ Luke. NEVAAAAAAA!!!

umm, ive been wathcing this for a bit and its gone a bit crazy, but i agree, someone does need 2 make a decent SW Online Roleplay, prefferably on the XBox360, PS£ and PC! make it like Oblivion, only bigger, online and other stuff like that, yeah, i know people say itll b impossible, not enuf room whatsamajigger, but hey, its good 2 dream.
And Oblivion and SW would kick ass 2getha, i just think that Lucas Arts needs 2 stop sueing fans for making games n fanfilms that they dont take copywrite for, but the credit in making the acting, script and stuff not the idea of Star Wars and the format they made it on (unless it was made by them on their own) like the A Clone Apart Series, im sure u lot have heard of that, it got banned for youtube for ages bcos of copywrite claims, and so many people dislikes Lucas Arts for it, i think that Lucas Arts needs 2 listen 2 other forums than just their own.
Gerorge Lucas should take a bigger part in the Company, i dnno what exactly he does, i know he sanctions games and stuff, goes 2 board meetings and tells em if its good or not, but he needs a more active role, and again, i know hes getting on, bcos a while back, reports of a new SW film were arising, but they said he wouldnt b Directing it. But anywho, he should get people looking at these and relaying ides to him and stuff.
Sorry for my large rant, comment if you will. Just dont go critisizing me loads, i hat eit when people do that, not jsut 2 me, if someone says something, the first thing someone else does is yell at em. Just dont.

Umm, double post :P (tech problems?)
Anyway, I think George Lucas is better than LucasArts about letting people play around with Star Wars because he has given the rights out to so many authors and he has let LucasArts make the games. If anybody could use Star Wars, we would have so many good SW games by now...

You can make Star Wars fan games, so long as they're posted for download exclusively on http://www.lucasfiles.com . Also, when you put your game there, you relinquish all rights to LucasArts (which is the same deal for mods to LucasArts games too).

Ok, I waited a few days. So what exactly is the legal stuff behind me making a no-charge fan-game and uploading it to lucasfiles? Basically, I make a Star Wars game, give it to LA (they say that any file on that site is theirs) so they can do whatever they want with it. Basically, I work for them for free by volunteering myself to make them a game. Any ideas?

^ That's correct, but you weren't going to make money off the project anyway, if you'd released in independently, were you?
You're using their universe, their charaters, their lore etc. So why should you be allowed to profit off that without paying licensing fees?
If you want to avoid all legal hassles make a similar-to-but-not-quite-Star Wars online RPG.

^Yeah, I wasn't going to make a profit. In fact, I don't even want to. One of my main goals is to make the whole thing free. No monthly fee to play, just connect, and play!
Also, I'm going to mail LA about this. If they don't respond, I'll just make it very very very easy for them to contact me if any problems arise. If there are no problems, I guess I'm about to make a Star Wars online rpg!
