I'm sure both Activision and Nintendo will be picked up soon enough by some other company, but right on the eve of the LEGO Indy release (that I have on pre-order)... AARRGH!

A quick note to GPSTORE.co.nz and I was told they have sourced all but the Wii version from elsewhere. So it should still arrive tomorrow, all going well. I hope I still get my double sided LEGO Indy poster, though!

So they are/were the licensed distributor who imports all Nintendo stuff from Australia?
I don't really know much about how games get out to small countries like this. I thought game stores just import it themselves.

Some parallel import, but then most consoles have regional coding, so chain stores etc stick with the certified importer.

Has there been a problem getting stuff down there?
And as for the Indy release, surely this doesn't take effect right now?

Gameplanet this morning confirmed with Softprint Interactive that they have gone into receivership, therefore losing the ability to distribute Nintendo and Activision products within New Zealand.
Existing stock has been seized by receivers, and those staff working on video game distribution have been made redundant. The existing film distribution side of the company is not affected.
So yeah, it does. Stock can't be released.
But I'm OK cause I pre-ordered the PC version of LEGO Indy, and they have an alternate source for all versions except Wii.
