A movie costs me at least $10 to go to, for two hours of entertainment. Thats $5 an hour.

Pretend I make minimum wage, I can't find it, assume its $6 an hour.

Assume a game costs $50. If I play it for 9 hours at $6 an hour, I have $56 dollars of entertainment. Doing movies would be $90.

Therefore, a good game needs to entertain me for 9 hours to be worth my time.

Considering that most games these days take 20 hours or more to complete, I'd say you're set. Especially with games like Oblivion, which can literally take over 100 hours to complete.

Yeah, thats the point. If I'm not entertained I shut it off. That's an unsuccessful game in my head.

What brought this up is reading the Guild Wars boards. All these people are complaining about how AreaNet isn't supporting the game. These are people that have been playing for YEARS.

I don't understand how you can pay $50 for a game, play for YEARS...and complain.

I completely knew what you were talking about from "How I judge games". LOL

It should be titled "GW sucks your life and your lifeless husk still complains" (WoW too)

Well, there's also plenty of awesome games available for $20. The PS2 is a goldmine, and I don't think I'll ever exhaust it.

It's kinda like how people watched TPM 18 times, in the summer of 1999, yet complained about it each and every single time. It boggles the mind. To paraphrase Stewie Griffin, "If it wasn't good enough the first time, what the hell makes you think it'll be better the next 17 times?" It just doesn't make sense and shows why people are just goofy.

Stewie: "Oh, this is an even bigger jackpot than when the Emperor
came up with the formula for great Star Wars dialouge."
Palpatine: "Something, something, something. Dark side.
Something, something, something complete."
