I REALLY hope all these rumors are wrong. Why can't we just get a nice conclusion to the story that expands upon (but still adheres to) the way the other two games played? I don't want to play one of those horrible MMO's just to end the story. A Massively MULTIPLAYER online game could not possibly be able to tell any kind of story worth caring for. It will no longer be about Revan/The Exile/Bastila and co. but rather JediBen435354 and CRUSH3R!11 and their merry womp rat killing. This would ruin the entire game.
I have no doubt that Bioware could make a fantastic MMO for those that are into that sort of thing, but please don't let KOTOR 3 be that.

I would love to see a story driven by the actions of the community. I think some item categories should be completely player crafted and some should be loot. For example possibly having clothing, housing, starships all player crafted and weapons / armor strictly loot. I suppose loot / crafting could be balanced but thats hard to do with a ever expanding universe.

Deep character customization with sliders for details on the face, multiple species, custom hilts, etc.
Space combat that's akin to the old X-Wing games and a pilot class for people who just want to do that.
Less grinding and more plot driven quests.
An organic Light/Dark Side meter like KOTOR's except that starting as a Jedi makes you start light, Sith makes you start Dark, and the use
of Dark Side powers drive you deeper into the Dark Side.
A smuggler class that actually smuggles.
The ability to start as a Jedi.
More factions than Jedi, Republic, Mandalorians, and Sith.
The game taking place during a period with little canon so players can have more impact.

Maybe someone needs to start a petition. This is clearly a disgraceful money-grab on the part of LucasArts and they need to know that we will not stand for it or ever play such a game.

First of all, why wouldn't Lucasarts make a "money grab?" They're a company, that's part of the point for their existence.
Secondly, this likely isn't KotOR 3 given that the patent they recently bought was just Star Wars: The Old Republic not Knights of the Old Republic 3.
Thirdly, online petitions aren't that effective.
