If GH:WT ends up having an awesome soundtrack and it plays good, then I'll be finding some way to fit two clunky sets of plastic drums in my living room. It's that simple. This whole taking sides crap is ridiculous. Are you getting a paycheck from Activision?
It's worth noting that Reynar is the biggest GH3 fanboy I have ever seen. I enjoy it, but I think it's ridiculous I can get up to the final tier on Expert without excessive difficulty and can't beat the last song on Hard. Boss battles = fail. And the Before I Forget note chart = fail.

I like it.
Rock Band is just so... boring! Even the damn jewels and fret boards are lame. Especially the jewels, and the horrendous HO/PO system that Harmonix managed to make worse than Guitar Hero II.
Guitar Hero III is just so... complete. Everything about it is just right. The soundtrack is leaps and bounds above Rock Band's (NOTE: I cannot download DLC), the HO/PO system is probably the best executed gameplay mechanic I've ever seen, and the note charts, while frustrating at first, are fun as hell once you get them down. Plus, I just like the style. Rock Band is too clean, what with the transparent fret boards, boring menu style, tame soundtrack, etc. Guitar Hero has an air about it that immerses me into the game and doesn't let go until the final note is hit.

GH3's soundtrack is better from a guitar perspective; Rock Band's is less limited to a single instrument. I wouldn't say one is better, but I prefer Rock Band's. And I also prefer Rock Band's visual style. Both have a different feel, but to me Guitar Hero feels tacky. Especially after playing Rock Band. Rock Band has a nice, clean interface. Call it boring if you want to, but the interface isn't supposed to be fun; the fun part is where you get together with three friends and rock out.

I'll admit, Rock Band with three friends is awesome. But my friends are quite lame when it comes to partying, so occasions like that are rare.

I got together with a few other people and played Rock Band. At the moment, its the only game that can support 4 players.

The latest development in the guitar wars: Activision and MTV seem to be engaged in talks with Apple Corp for the rights to the Beatles catalog. It's looking likely that we'll see some Beatles tracks in one of the guitar games, and we might even see an entire game oriented around the Beatles (along the lines of the Metallica Guitar Hero game).

MTV can have the Beatles. Activision needs to focus their attention on getting access to Zeppelin.

I would love a beatles focused game, but the guitar in the beatles songs aren't exactly challenging.
Give me Guitar Hero: Pantera or Guitar Hero: COB anyday. Playing guitar as fast as Dimebag or Alexi = real challenge.

As long as Guitar Hero 4 ropes in Dream Theater as stated in Game Informer, all is well in the world.

First off Jimmy Page is smart enough not to license some of zeppelin's music to activision, second off he isnt gonna license it off to anyone because you know what happens when that happens. You have a Kurt Cobain killing himself thing going on.....on a much smaller scale..i guess...
