Aah, makes more sense now. But what exactly about world 7 makes you dislike it so?
Whenever I play now, I can't wait to get to it. I think world 1 ranks lowest on my list because it bores me as it is too easy and I know it so well. I just want to get through it as fast as possible. World 8 ranks so low not for the level designs, but mainly because I have so many weapons and tools to easily pass up the majority of levels with P wings and star power. The only one that ever presents a challenge to me is the castle in the spotlight realm which completely freaked me out when I was kid that skipping it with a cloud was the only option. Now I can beat it rather easily.

Dammit, this is the only reason I hate the SNES. My save file just spontaneously erased.

It's been years since I played this last. We used to have the cheat book so we got 100% matches on the house of cards every time. Man I miss that game, wonder if I can find my old SNES version.

Isn't there a time limit, though? I seem to recall my friends an I attempting a similar "ace the match games" with the strat guide, but either running out of time or the trial and error of trying to identify which setup it could be ended the game before we could ID the setup.

I used to have that cheat book too. The only thing I remember from it was that stars are always, or almost always, in the bottom corners in the match game.

This is an amazing game. But what is even more amazing is that it's my fourth favorite Mario platformer, which is a testament to just how spectacular this series is.
My favorites are:
1. Super Mario Bros.
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Super Mario World
4. Super Mario Bros. 3
5. Super Mario 64
