Seeing the ewok blinking stuff recently made me think of one - I always thought Leia gave Wicket saltine crackers. Like, with enough focus that I saw her do it. Turns out the shot's not nearly that specific.

From what I understand, Lucas did base the Empire off of Nazi Germany.

As for more of my misconceptions?

    ...

Vader said, "No, I am your mother."

I thought Luke's food that Yoda found so revolting was Twix bars.

I still think it's a fish stick. I also found them revolting, so his reaction was understandable.

Oh, for God's sake, Luke's rations were White Wings Space Food Sticks.

Then I looked closer & it looked like a cold, leftover sausage.

In ANH, when the Stormtroopers go to check out Han and Chewbacca's table in the cantina, I thought that Han and Chewie were pretending to be statues so that the troopers would leave them alone.

there are several, but the main one's that stick out for me are

"chewie, lock in the auxiliary power"

    i heard

"chewie luck and your chewie power"

when luke said "the princess, she's here?" and han retorted "princess, what's going on?"
i thought han was calling luke a princess and was just pissed at the whiny brat.

    -Lifesaver.

-Oola being transformed into Jabba food.

-After Jabba hits C3P0 he got back up covered in green washing up liquid.

-Just before losing the Falcons deflector shield and after in Deathstar II:

Nien Nunb: "Oi, are we there"?
    Lando: "That was two clues".

    -Ewoks were young Wookies.

-The Snow Troopers in ESB has tea towels on their heads o_O

-Luke was pointing his little finger towards his lightsabre in the Wampa cave when he was trying to reach it with the force.

-Luke said "more well than you can imagine".

-The Emperor saying "I can feel your egg-er", I wondered what Lukes eggs had to do with anything.

-The Emperor was plugged into a socket to be able to use force lightning on Luke.

-Yoda was eating a sausage from Lukes lunchbox.

-Obi Wan's lightsabre on the Deathstar was running out of battery mid fight.

-The consoles in the Cloud City walkway (near the end of the duel) were arcade machines.

I know this isn't as a kid (it's about my dad, who saw the OT first by the way) and it spans both trilogies but I thought it was worth noting: My dad thought the Emperor in ROTS was a different person than the Emperor in ROTJ.

I remember catching up with a former workmate after TPM came out & he thought he was quite clever when he suggested to me that the Senator guy from Queen Amidala's planet would have something to do with the evil Empire later down the track.

SW geek snobbery aside, it was interesting to see that Palpatine's future wasn't really as obvious to the average viewer as we might have thought.

Yes, it isn't obvious but he thought the Emperor in ROTS was not the same character as the Emperor in ROTJ, which is very obvious.

this maybe PT but as a a 9 year old watchin TPM i had lots o misconceptions over Gungan speech! when Jar-Jar says "Captain Tarpals" soon after returnin to Otoh Gunga i always used to think he said "*something* tacos", i always thought Jar-Jar was askin if Tarpals wanted to go for some Gungan tacos to celebrate returnin to Otoh Gunga! Jar-Jar was pretty hard for me 9 year old brain to understand, TBH i still have some trouble understandin him now! [face_laugh]

I thought the prequel trilogy was going to have a love triangle between Anakin, Padme and Bail Organa. For some reason I was under the impression that there had been references to Bail being Leia's stepfather because the then unnamed mother had married him. Go figure.

There are 2 things i distincly remember, one was from when i was really young watching the original trilogy. I was about 7 or so years old. When leia calls han a scruffy lookin nerf herder. I thought she said nerve hurter. Which is a reasonable assumption if you don't know what a nerf is.

The other one is just before rots came out, i always thought that Anakin would have gotten burned that way because of a fighter pilot crash. I could have sworn then that it had said that in some source. I remember someone telling me that it was because Anakin and Obi-Wan were fighting.

Yes, this is very true; I had a similar conversation after seeing ROTS with someone who, prior to that film, had not known that Palpatine & the Emperor were the same person.

I was a hardcore SW fan growing up during the OOT days, so I remember reading the ROTJ novelization back in '83 and Palpatine was mentioned as being the Emperor - though, he wasn't referred to by name in the film (for that matter, this was probably also mentioned in the ANH novelization, 1976). So, knowning this, when I saw Palpatine in TPM it was obvious he was Darth Sideous/The Emperor. However, this wasn't as obvious to those non-hardcore SW fans.

I always thought that when Vader/Anakin finally died, it was "Take your sister, go for a ride."

and as i write this, i can understand the really bad double statement said there.

1.When I was 7, I thought Stormtroopers were robots. And, "Han and Luke must have had to take out all those wires to get in those robot suits!"

    2. I thought Chewie was Han's pet.

    3. Some of the lines Yoda said went right over my head.

    4. At 10 years old, watching ESB, I thought the "other" Yoda was talking about was Han.

    5. I thought the carbon freeze block was that reddish orange color, not silver.

I had some of these misconceptions too:
-The Death Star in ROTJ was what was left of the Death Star in ANH.
    - Vader says "If this a consular ship" I heard "councilor ship".
    -Lando said "too cloos"
    -"Locust Falls in attack position."

A few of my uncommon misconceptions:

    -Captain/Admiral Viet
-The face in Vader's mask on Dagobah was just some unimportant imperial officer.
-For some reason when I was a child watching Chewie choke Lando I thought Lando was doing some special breathing technique called: Hen.
-Yoda being a two-foot tall frog was the big surprise in TESB. I never trusted that Vader fellow. It's still my favorite twist in the Saga.
