Easy way to tell them apart: JJ is overrated and Joss is underrated.

Abrams is the one that develops incredibly convoluted mythologies. Whedon is the one who kills all the fan-favourite characters after making people fall in love with them.

 

They're both tv producers that also make movies.

That's where the similarities end.

I watched and liked Firefly, but I was more of a Dollhouse fan, and yeah, we got really cheated by FOX.
