I love John, Paul and George equally. Whose face springs first to mind when I think of the band though... usually John.

John times a million. The Beatles would have still been legendary without Paul.

Having said that, the fact Paul was such a great number 2 made them the super group that they were.

I voted John, but George is a close second. I've always had great admiration for John's pioneering and innovative song writing style. He was never afraid to push the limits and break away from the usual song writing formulas that were prevalent back then. Paul wrote great songs too, but seemed to play it close to the cuff most of the time and if he did get adventurous with his song writing, it was usually, but not always (Yesterday comes to mind), in trying to keep up with something John was doing.

John's my favourite so agree with you there but the Beatles were as great as they were because the two of them were trying to outdo each other. They wouldn't have achieved the heights they did without one another. And they would have been pretty rudderless without Paulie in the later years even if he was a knob.

The Beatles would not have been legendary without Paul. Whatever people may think of him now, he was the ying to John's yang. The songs the pair produced map their relationship, perfect harmony in the early years and almost critiques of each other towards the end.

The Beatles needed John, Paul and George. All for different, but equally valid reasons.

I still feel sad when I think of John and George, however I am thankful that Paul survives them both. Paul was happier as a performer than either John or George. So naturally he still performs to this day, delighting crowds with Beatles songs which I firmly believe would've had to be dragged out of a kicking and screaming John and coaxed (perhaps unsuccessfully) out of a more circumspect George.

The answer pretty much depends on when you ask me. I don't have one constant favorite.

I think Ringo Starr is probably the single person in history who earned the most money with the least amount of talent/effort.

Of course Ringo was a "good" drummer, I never said otherwise. But was he "I'm worth half a billion dollars" good?

    No, no he wasn't.

I like Ringo's voice, so he's alright by me. George is still my favorite, though.
