Sad indeed, Genndy Tartakovsky's reaction is apart of the reason why I act like TCW doesn't exist.

That was a very interesting read, though I couldn't help but feel like the intro portrayed Genndy as having a poor attitude about it, but when it got to that part of the interview it seemed like the questioning was what was harsh and his responses were really measured and deferential to GL.

NIAWYC. I've never been a fan of Huffington Post, and the editorial in the intro was a clear over-exaggeration of the actual interview.

Yeah, that was rather grim for a promotional interview for his new movie :p But seriously, yeah it really is sad how LFL has just severed ties and pretend that this series doesn't exist anymore. They probably wanted a show that didn't have a foreseeable end, thus sales of tie-in toys etc could continue indefinitely. Major-ly sad given how awesome and inspired the micro-series was.

It is sad indeed when low and dumb **** like Evil Plans and Corruption and Umbara are canon but now the Battle of Muunilinst and first/greatest Battle of Mon Calamari are non-canon!:_|

THIS LINE IS WHY THE OLD SERIES IS GENIUS!

If Lucas was thinking like that then nobody would have an issue with TCW.

As long as Lucas is doing the new show with the logic "I need to put this character here and add this one here so the kiddies could see these characters and buy the Hasbro figures that are coming!"... then the show will never be as good as the old one.
As long as we have people who act as fans and try to do things for the fans but end up squished under the corporate might of Darth Lucas then nothing as good as the old series will come.

    AKA Darth Maul!

I hope it is not the case cause Muunilist had a cool history and looked cool and sounded... well... cool! But Scipio was referenced back when the Complete TCW character encyclopedia that Scipio is inhabited by Humans.
Maybe Filoni meant - one of the homes of the banking clan.

Or the biggest BS would be if Muunilist is the home of the Muun species but Scipio is the capital of their financial Empire. Maybe that is why Clovis said in "Senate Spy" :
"I am going there to put the fear of Scipio in those overgrown Trade Federation grubs."

Maybe cause it is the Capital of the people from the IGBC...

I didn't think that interview was really depressing. Tartakovsky just seemed like "It's too bad, but whatever. I'm on to other things now."

And LOL at that one comment detailing that his Clone Wars was "appalling" and that TCW is the real "much-loved" show..

I sympathize with Mr. Tartakovsky. For some reason it seems like George Lucas wants to pretend that a lot of his earlier Star Wars stuff didn't happen. It even seems like he's embarrassed of the original theatrical releases of the original trilogy. I guess when he makes an update of something or moves on to a new project, he want's his old stuff to be buried and forgotten.

I think George is just the opposite of confused.
No, I think the man is super-focused to the sometimes detriment of collaborators. But that is nothing new.

I'm all for Lucas' creative freedom but ignoring and contradicting artists' work like this is in bad taste. Not only is it rude to the visionaries that made his universe the mega-franchise that it is today but it's endlessly frustrating to the fans that have to sort through this mess. I love TCW and I can't wait to see what comes next for SW in the future, but that doesn't mean I have to abandon all the stories that came out in the past.

No, I think ROTJ was actually the beginning of the end of GL being a master at his craft. Intergalactic teddy bear wars! I mean, Star Wars!
