I like how he has what looks like black stitches all over his helmet. I can't decided if that is what is going on or if he was really lazy about putting kill tallies on his helmet compared to say Rex or Waxer.

I assumed kill tallies. Never really considered stitches. Not every cluster of tallies with a diagonal slash through them indicates five. Some are in clusters of six on his helmet. So either he really sucks at tally marks or you could be right about them being an aesthetic thing.

I dunno, I've seen some nice designs.

Also "Sketch" is supposed to be a good artist, but that might be fanon.

The whole thing was already cliched to death when Rex did it... but I think this Commando thing will be all about 80s cliches.

Rex wasn't the first we saw to have kill marks. If I recall, it was Waxer.

Oh ok... It was old when he did it as well! :D
But when Rex did it, it was worse.

Does it really count as a "kill" when it's a battle droid?

That depends on whether the unit has a soul.

Part of the reason that the disgust toward the clone that was keeping the droid fingers was a bit ridiculous. It's one thing to keep ears... flesh... potentially decomposing flesh that once belonged to a person. It's another matter when you're keeping a robot's appendage, especially when most of the characters outside of Luke and Anakin really treat droids as simply appliances.

It would make sense if those belonged to a dangerous assasin droid or something like that.

I still kinda think the way the tallies are laid out looks more like stitches.

Kill tallies don't really have much of an impact emotionally when you're just shooting down robots.

I remember the bizarre first part of the Geonosis arc where the Jedi were high-fiving each other over "kills" and having a contest about it.

I mean seriously, you have a Jedi Council member patting the Chosen One on the back on how many people he's killed in that battle?

I didn't have an issue with the Geonosis contest, because it was over droids. If Anakin was having such a contest on Umbara with Ki-Adi, then I think it would be way more disturbing.

Now, what I think they were trying to do was give a little nod to the Republic Commando game and the Geonosis levels therein, where Sev and Scorch are comparing their kills during the battle. It was kind of funny and acceptably dark for the commandos. But I agree with you that it felt very out of place for a Jedi to be doing that, and while Anakin or even Ahsoka is one thing, having Ki-Adi-Mundi join in was certainly out of place.

That kill contest came from Lord of the Rings when Legolas and Gimli were having a contest[face_laugh]

That is what makes Republic commandos like Sev from Delta Squad so good.
