    Conan wasn't a remake. The original, whilst still the best fantasy film ever, did not really capture the spirit, look, and world of the Robert Howard books. So this version was basically an attempt to put the 'real' Conan on screen.

    The fact that Robert E Howard's texts should be edited to include references to crushing enemies, seeing them driven, and lamenting women is another topic entirely. But they should.
