I have a feeling those movies are going to be very different from the books, but damn I want to see them anyway. Also, Martin Freeman is absolutely perfect as Bilbo from all I've seen so far.

I live in a city called Oldenburg. It's in the North of Germany, about 200 km west of Hamburg. It's a medium-sized town, around 160,000 inhabitants I think, and pretty average all around I'd say.
I've been meaning to go exploring for ages, but somehow I never get around to it. Maybe having someone else around would help.

 

Ah, so close One of the last farmers we visited was 15 km SE of Oldenburg

Beginning to resemble a trip in West-North Germany

 

I wasn't free with my movements until I arrived at Hamburg, unfortunately It was a work trip, pre-arranged by the client firm for which we worked.

And the farmer whose fields we visited near Oldenburg was a bit eccentric. Did a lot of experiments with his maize. He joined a few other local farmers in a complaint regarding a specific lot of seeds because he was asked to by the others, only he didn't have accurate records of what he'd sown where...

 

What is it that you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking? I can't imagine a whole lot of jobs that would require you to visit farms in foreign countries!

Well, there are a lot more dwarves than hobbits in that film, if that makes you feel better.

Hey, does that old Metropolis cinema in Cologne still exist....?

 

How could I watch The Hobbit anywhere else? I'll definitely be there!

 

The city of Metropolis is only about 2-3 hours from me. They have a giant statue of Superman and a Superman museum there but I didn't know that they have a cinema.

 

I wish that I could.

Welcome back! A few days ago, we went from summer to late autumn all of a sudden.

 

I haven't seen it and doubt that I'll get to until it's on HBO or Cinemax. Not working and not having any money sucks.
