i guess i can only come up with a top 8. i don't really care for any of his recent films. also goonies would have been near the top, but i don't really consider it a spielberg film.

I need clarification from the judges. Is this any movie he's been associated with? Or just movies he's directed? Or can we include movies he's written? I need rules and structure!

    Amazing.

    Chapter 14, page 9:

23b. The rules of this game are quite loose. Participants may decide for themselves what they consider a Spielberg movie or not. I'd say a director or writer credit is important. It's tricky to draw a clear line, however: for example, we consider Return of the Jedi a George Lucas movie, even though he was only one of the writers, and one of the producers. They were his characters, sure, but--

Wait, am I still quoting from a fictitious book or am I posting as myself now? HELP! I'M TRAPPED INSIDE A BOOK!

Now that Debo is safely trapped inside a book and society is safe:

    1. Last Crusade
    2. Raiders
    3. Goonies
    4. Jurassic Park
    5. Catch Me If You Can
    6. Hook
    7. Temple of Doom
    8. Minority Report
    9. Close Encounters
    10. Indy 5 (HOPE!)

Too much I haven't seen...I'm kind of annoyed now.

    Amazing.

    Jaws
    The Goonies
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
    Jurassic Park
    Munich
    The Lost World
    Hook

... These are the only Spielberg movies (or, in the case of Goonies, Speilberg associated movies) that I've seen all the way through. Yeah. I know. I've never seen Raiders of the Lost Ark, or E.T., or Close Encounters, or Schindler's List, or Saving Private Ryan... well, none of them completely, t any rate. Even though I own Schinler's List and Saving Private Ryan. Yeah.

I don't even like the last two I listed, and Munich is only okay. They're only there because I've seen less than ten Spielberg movies. Jaws and Goonies are terrific, and Last Crusade and Jurassic Park are quite good.

I have seen and enjoyed Band of Brothers, but I don't think that counts as it's not a feature film.

Er... that's Robert Zemeckis. If Spielberg was involved I was unaware. I've seen and loved all three of those if that's the case. The first one would be above everything but Jaws.

IIRC, Spielberg was one of the producers on Back to the Future.

Back to the Future is why I demanded answers. Ultimately, I chose not to include movies he only produced.

    Amazing.

Yep, he was an executive producer.

And true, Band of Brothers and Into the West are mini-series, but I weighted "favorite Spielberg" higher than "Spielberg movies".

Some (many?) of the films he executive produced he wasn't really involved in much, which is disappointing since I'd have We're Back! at number one.

Count me in on loving 'Duel'. My parents showed us that when I was a kid and I loved it.

    Last Crusade
    Raiders
    Jurassic Park
    A.I.
    Catch Me If You Can
    Duel
    Empire of the Sun
    Saving Private Ryan
    Temple of Doom/KotcS

And if I could include anything he's been an EP on and actually somewhat involved in the creation of, I'd go with ER.

I love adventure films, so I'm slightly biased here. Also, Tin Tin is better than Indiana Jones(which I listed as just Indiana Jones as I enjoy both Raiders and Crusade equally).

    In this order:

    The Adventures of Tin Tin
    Indiana Jones
    Hook
    Jaws
    Catch Me If You Can
    Jurassic Park
    E.T.
    Duel
    A.I.
    Munich
