At one point the NJOFC was big enough to have Wraith Squadron, Rogue Squadron, Wild Knightz Squadron, and I think Twin Suns and a couple of others besides. But that was several years ago now.

 

I make no apologies if that sounded bitter because it definitely was. I joined the Wraiths in this thread 6 years ago and when we look to rebuild the squadron you feel the need to point out that the Wraiths don't belong here. Of course I'm bitter about your comment. It was an insensitive comment that as Xani and Sinre point out is ridiculous because the Wraiths have been here for many many years.

I'll talk it over with my squadron as to if we want to remain here.

 

Umm... here's a perspective that may or may not be relevant - and I'm sure you remember this Addie, but for historical purposes -

About five or six years ago, the JCC had groups like the EUC has now - and among many others, there was a Light Side group and a Dark Lords group.

The Light Side group allowed dual membership, in that you could (according to the Light Side tenets) be a member of both the Light Side and the Dark Lords. If you wanted to be both a Jedi Master and a Dark Lady at once, the Light Side would have no problem. On the other hand the Dark Lords enforced exclusive membership - in that membership in the Light Side (or any other group) was an automatic disqualifier for Dark Lords membership, or if you were already a Dark Lord when you tried to join the Light Side, that implicitly meant you were leaving the Dark Lords. And if you tried to do it in secret, the Dark Lords would kick you out the moment they found out.

Both the Light Side and the Dark Lords thrived.

So I honestly don't think it matters so much and we should leave it to the individual groups to decide whether they want to enforce exclusive membership, or not.

Overlapping memberships does dilute the point of having separate threads for these groups in the first place. Its not as if either member can't go post in either thread and discuss the light or dark side. You don't need a membership to do that.

Keeping memberships exclusively separate will encourage a more fun competitive attitude, and that attitude makes the role playing side of it all a little more sweeter.

I think I remember trying to join the Sith once upon a time, but the testing or whatever was way too much like schoolwork for my taste - and not in a fun way - so I've been a happy non Force user ever since

Why play act when you can do the real thing by joining the Sith. You know you want to.
