They don't dismiss KOTOR II completely. They mention Mical and mention the Malachor system at least twice in two different quests. As it's part of how Lord Vivacar is born, and Thanaton mentions he has business there after he defeats the Inquisitor

impressive in the TOR ency is also that it gives weigth for a Thermaldetonator, barrel lengths and other measurements for blasters and rifles as well as different ranges for them from ideal to max range.

There are a number of KotOR II references in TOR which include:
    • Apparently, there is a GO-TO droid in the Corellian musuem that I think was retrieved from Malachor
    • I believe there is a Jedi called Marr (Visas Marr descendant?) in the Bounty Hunter campaign who is sent to arrest the player
    • Recently, of course, HK-51 has been introduced
    • There is the Exchange running around of course
Can't remember the whole list but those are some that I remember off the top of my head.

Well, Malachor is originally mentioned in KOTOR I, so it's not really building off of KOTOR II.

Also, I would argue that taking the concept of the mysterious "True Sith" and turning it into "yet another Sith Empire, based very closely off the OT Empire" is a little dismissive of the premise established by the end of KOTOR II. Especially since Vitiate draws more than a little on Nihilus.

Oh my... please at least give us the names of the Kresh and the Dark Councilors ^:)^
As for Malgus, he is indeed dead, this was confirmed by the developpers in an interview.

Yes there is a map. TOR style, not Atlas style. no new placements if you saw all there is on the ingame map. less even than those since it does not show space mission locations and such.

TOR encyclopedia expands history of the Mandos as well as history of the Exchange and Black Sun nicely.

Intriguing. There are some new planets in ToR, so I was curious as to their location.

Rift Alliance being two Core Worlds, Aeten II, Saluecami and Manaan is an interesting combination, though.

Candylore... aka Canderous Ordo tried to unite the Mandalorian clans to bring them on the Republic side but many refused because they did not want to aid the Republic or follow Ordo due to him being in cahoots with Revan. so while he united a lot, not all and to the day of TOR, there are several clans who ally with the Republic and are faught by the new Mandalores who ally with the Empire. the majority though by the time of TOR is allied with the Empire, even if the number of pro-Republic Mandos is not tiny but not too big either.

    THANKS A LOT!!

Mortis : Law and Justice. Fair enough, that fits him well.
Ravage, Diplomacy ... [face_rofl] can I say lol?
    Rictus.. really
Vowrawn is only 76? I thought he was well over one hundred years old.
So Darth Arctis replaced Rictus then (she is only mentioned in Darth Hadra codex)o_O

Darth Vowrawn as production and logistics? Seems a bit of an odd choice, would have pegged him more for either diplomacy/philosophy/ancient knowledge. But very interesting. Though so far nothing seems to add on the things like lore in the game such as the Operations. Anything on Soa and the Eternity Vault?

EDIT: Also, Darth Jadus is the coolest of the Dark Council... and spookiest in my opinion. He has that inhuman quality in him that you see in the Dread Masters or in the Emperor.

also nice is the article on Sycophants and Minions, or in other words: skimpily dressed Slave girls who love to be around scum and villainy and "enjoy" their abusive relationships.

Quote: "Successful criminals with credits to burn are never short of ´friends´."

and did I mention already how I love exact ages for companions given? I want more character ages ins tone... from EU, from games, all... I love that. need to update my birthyear lists soon now.whoever askes birthyear or age questions to leeland or authors, please let me know the results! thx

    Thermal Detonator
    weigth: 400g (14oz)

examples for the awesomely detailed weapon profile data:

    Scattergun:
    Manufacturer: Speizoc Arms
    Model Name: "Gundark Fist" 9PS
    Weight: 2.7kg (5lb 15oz)
    Barrel Length: 400mm (15 3/4 in)
    Ammo capacity: 50 plasma shells
    Max Range: 35m (115ft)
    Effective Range: 10m (33ft)

    Genoharadan update:
they sure seem to be on the Republics side these days, but still as mysterious as ever. but concentrating more on Imperial deaths including even 1 Dark Council member they successfully killed.

so any hint the Genoharadan from KOTOR games were affected by Revan and folks to be anti-Sith from then on?

we get a nice list of TOR Era bounty hunter guilds:
    Ragnar Syndicate
    Vengeance Factory
    Blood for Credits
    Aggression Management
    Spikefist Runners
    The Simple Truth
    Killsisters Continuum
    Retribution
    Galactic Retrieval Specialists
    Sung-Tarr Corporation
We Feed Your Bounty To Our Rancor (aka Rancorfodder)

last one I love most :p they really had their fun with this info

also many KOTOR npcs get mentions unter "famous Bounty Hunters" and other such categories. f.e. Calo Nord

nope, just that no Mandalore after him wore the original Mandalore mask. Whatever Candylore did with it, it is hidden safely for the true worthy Mandalore to come. Not even Mandalore the Vindicated (Diversity folks, note he is black!) after Mandalore the Lesser had it.

Does it tie the Exchange into Black Sun at all, or are they two separate organizations?

Heya on to Hutt chapter... all Hutt fans, now is your time to listen!

    a new Hutt?

Voromuzz the Brooding, who had palatical fortresses on Varl before it was uninhabitable

Ardustagg the Absolute lead mass uprisings and drove the Rakata off Varl after the Hutts realized quickly after their invasion that the Rakata were already on their downward spiral, thus easily revolting and freeing themselves of Rakatan oppression.
Hutts seized Rakatan technology and warships which gave them a decisive advantage over their neighboring systems.

celebrated Hutt war leaders like Voromuzz the Brooding ventured out from Varl to expand the Hutt dominion and fill the void the Rakata had left behind. Soon neighboring systems fell and not long thereafter they had over 100 systems.

Quote by Nikto slave Bokran Rix: "The only limit a Hutt percieves is its own absence of one."

sounds quite like my collecting motto :D

and the Xim the Despot part of Hutt history mentions Xim like the Hutts had interhited a Rakatan void to fill and with it some of their tech.

Hutt Cataclysms thereafter had Hutt pitted against Hutt as after massive expansion the Hutts began to feud and war amongst each other using Rakatan superweapons against each other!!! many planets were left barren and even Varl suffered from this. maybe that is what happened to Varl even forcing the Hutts to leave it. One clan collected survivors and slaves to settle on Evocar becoming Hutta, as the Hutt Empire was no more and had to be rebuild from a new central world.

separate organisations... Exchange grew out of Taris to galaxywide fame whereas Black Sun is younger and separate. a rival so to speak that is rumored to have maybe been started as a terrorist cell founded by the Sith Empire on Coruscant. deadly, evil and expanding fast. well can't say it as sweet and awesome as their entry did.. maybe I quote it some other day.

    Hutt Government:

Council of Elders influence is eroded as the Cartel grows in importance and on a "glorious convocation of profiteers" they elect their "Surpreme Mogul".

Just to add to t he confusion:

In the month or two following the games release, the Dev's posted on the Official TOR forums that news of Malgus' and Revans' deaths were greatly exaggerated. Whether that means in-universe how they happened or whether they are really dead is up in the air though. Also for Rrevan's death he originally had a body to loot for the Foundry during Beta, but this was changed to a puff of purple smoke or something(never finished my Imp character) to add to claims that Revans death may have been overexaggerated.

And no, I don't have links for this. I just know I've read it on the TOR forums.

    Sith species entry paraphrased parts:

Darth Ikoral, a pureblooded red sith with extremely pure red sith lineage didn't even like aliens as slaves and sought permission of the Dark Council to seek out any surviving red sith after the great purge the republic enacted on Sith worlds after the great hyperspace war. His fleet left on a quest for purity and tireless devotion showing pureblood blood is stronger and better than any others. though his fleet was gone so long he was beliefed to be dead, to those left behind on Dromund Kaas his devotion and purity came to symbolize the strength that comes with the blood of the ancient Sith, a sign that purebloods are truly superior.
