Would you be on the top of your game if you'd spent that morning duelling five hundred trainees by yourself?

Note: Katarn personally flew all the way from Ossus to Coruscant. No ship or anything, just flapping his arms. And he still beat the rest of the strike team to Coruscant by several days.

The mission wasn't to kill - it was to plant a tracker; wasn't it?

Because again, suddenly Caedus was the 2nd best lightsaber duelist in the galaxy. [face_laugh]

To be fair, Kyle was probably drunk off his choobies for LOTF. If you're playing a bit part in a bit production what else can you do?

At that point I thought he was. After the NJO who else was second to Luke?

Kyle Katarn does not "duel" the way other mortals might. Opponents swing their lightsabers at him, and Kyle plays along in the interest in politeness. If the number of opponents range in the hundreds, he may even choose to teach them humility.

No, no, no... don't you see the beauty of Kyle's tactic?

He let Caedus win, so he would think himself the second best duellist in the galaxy, and then run off to get his ass handed to him by people he should have known better than to ever try and fight.

It was a stroke of pure genius! Even in 'defeat', Kyle Katarn was successful!

I have no idea. I just always thought it came out of nowhere in LOTF when it was mentioned Caedus was the 2nd best duelist. Force User is once thing, but dueling?

Did it say "2nd best duellist" or what I remember from Fury, "second most dangerous man in the galaxy." Which is closer to true...ish.

JACEN was the second most dangerous person in the galaxy. Third would have been Kyp i guess.

I don't have my copy of the book on me, and haven't read the story in years so it may just be 2nd most dangerous. IDK about Kyp being 3rd. Lando's old but he's still alive and taking names

I think the first looked better. Not really liking them taking up the entire cover like that.

This cover is too in your face, npi. I like my covers being a single image, so the two lines separating the Big Three are way too garish for my liking. Give me floating heads any day over whatever this is.

It's quite garish, and the closeup highlights the awkwardness of the original painting. But given the direction the covers have been going (from a more unified, smooth look to a jagged, off-kilter, faux-dramatic look - see also Scourge and the new Mercy Kill cover), it's no surprise.

I do wish we'd start getting more info on how all the projects will be released - hopefully at NYCC.
