26th November edit: Please see post #54 for up to date information.

Maria and I would like to invite the JCC to a screening of Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" (starring, most particularly, Dwalin) on the evening of the Friday, 14th December 2012 in London. Assuming we can, we'll be going to see it in 3D / 48fps. Details of what time and exactly where to be confirmed nearer the the date the tickets go on sale, of course. Needless to say, we can arrange to meet as a group before the film and it would be fun to go out for a drink afterwards. :D

Once it's clear when tickets will be going on sale, and exactly where we'll be going, I'll look into booking as many seats together as we need (payment to be made in advance to me probably).

For now, though - if you're in London or have access to London - and want to watch "The Hobbit" in the very best company... please do register your interest. :p

To read the full terms and conditions please get in line behind Bilbo: :-B

I'm interested, but I might be working that day and it does depend on how much ticket prices will be.

I wasn't aware that was confirmed internationally. If so, then great.

Hmm didn't think about that. We are putting on tickets for sale here in the states on November 7th. Figured it would be a world wide event kind of thing since the film has the same release date here and there.

I thought I'd up this thread in case anyone is interested in joining Maria and I at a 48fps showing of "The Hobbit" on the evening of 14th December in London. I get the feeling it won't be long before the HFR showings in London are confirmed - however I also have a feeling they'll be limited in number and sell out relatively quickly. Just a guess, though. Anyway, as soon as the showings are announced we're ( [face_love] ) going to book ourselves a couple of tickets for a Friday evening showing. I'll post the time we've chosen in this thread and then anyone who wishes to come along can simply book for the same showing. :)

I'm guessing the terms and conditions include 'No talking' and 'No leaving early'.

Given the likely running time of the film, adhering to the second condition could prove difficult :p

Will your cinema show it in 48 fps 3D?

We have IMAX, so I would assume so.

Could you check to be sure? I've read that not every IMAX is capable of projecting films at HFR.
