Also, the cover is easily the greatest Star Wars poster ever.

Jan 9th, is it? Long wait... [face_coffee]

One thing I didn't notice before, the price of $2.99! That should help, especially with the $3.99 price more prevalent than ever, could well see people buy experimentally.

I'm certainly more inclined to pick it up every month with that price.

I see that quite a bit, especially with creator-owned books - for instance, love or loathe his work, Mark Millar favours $2.99 because he knows he'll end up with more sales, people will be inclined to try it out more easily whereas $3.99 kills a potential sale.

Hahaha, Vader in Luke's classic pose... hilarious.

Interesting that they don't cite DMZ as one of Wood's works: isn't that his most acclaimed work? It's the one that's currently on my reading list, anyway. For anyone else who is familiar with Brian Wood, what comics by him would you recommend?

I know there's some trepidation about this series, but I personally am looking forward to it. Then again, I loved the Marvel series.

$3.99 price points are evil. Doubt I'll ever buy a comic that costs that much.

It has rather controversial parts so maybe they didn’t want to list it.

DMZ is very intresting, though the story started to crawl a little for me around issue 50. His run on Conan is also very intresting if you like classic Conan.

DMZ is the recommendation from me, though have heard good things about his Conan and X-Men work. Northlanders is pretty good too.

Gotta love how this cover really seems to suggest that Vader is the hero.

Yeah anyone who can get keep a fantasy-free historical series of standalone adventures about dark-ages Vikings around for four years in a hideously depressed comics market is...interesting. Haven't read him myself, but if it wasn't for the fact it's an interesting author I'd probably be skipping this like I skipped Rebellion. In this case, though, I'm hoping for something...genuinely fresh. Like MINDOR. I mean, not like it narratively, so much as like it in effect - something brave and bold and stylistically different.

    Plus: cover.

I think they cited those two because they are currently ongoing Dark Horse titles. DMZ was published by the DC imprint Vertigo and ended recently.

DMZ and Northlanders are awesome, but I would especially recommend Local. It is a slice-of-life style series that just tells some great stories. Not much like what Star Wars will be, I'm sure, but still a great read.

I'm really looking forward to this series eventhough the only new SW comics I've bought in the last two years have been Darth Maul:Death Sentence.

Its going to be fun trying to make this fit with the Classic Star Wars comics and the novels. I wouldn't cry if much of the Marvels die.

Nice way to start the new year, and although I never read this author, he sounds pretty interesting. Not to mention that great cover. Here's hoping this is the start of something very good, nice to have a date for it (I think this is the first news of it?).

I like that In the Kenobi thread people are complaining about the year wait, and in here people are complaining about the three month wait. Clearly, we just want things to be over already. :p
