i liked the part where arlon explained what a stereotype is and gave examples.

 

Is this a good thing or bad?

 

it's a great thing. you should start a new thread where you explain simple concepts that everyone over the age of ten is familiar with, but in the way that only arlon can. it would be fabulous.

But as far as explaining things to like children I think along those lines anyway. I do have children stories I've written but have not gotten them published

ps... you should let Dave handle the house rules for his awesome thread that we've never had any issues with in the four years since it was started (love you and all, but damn).

 

harps, it's not like I haven't been here in four years. I just asked that the discussion stop veering into Arlon discussion. We've got a lot of threads for that and we don't need to turn this one into another.

 

You could move the offending discussion into an existing thread.

 

I feel like this exchange alone would make a good comic cover.

But... the last comic book cover that was posted was about Arlol... do you see what I'm getting at? I mean, we're not going to talk about Jazib for that, and if we we're only allowed to say that the covers are funny, the thread would lose a lot of its charm. If you're bummed with arlol for derailing the laughter with talk of illegal immigrants, black thugs, and stereotypical hip hop artists, you should PM him about it.

 

Well, yeah, and it's hilarious, I agree. But we've gone on for a page and half questioning Arlon about his sexuality - it's funny but could be in the other thread rather than having it all here.

I want my comic cover thread not cluttered with Arlon stuff.

I think I'll put some words in Kate's mouth that are what I'm personally feeling, so I'll assume she must be saying what I'm thinking: No one cares about Arlon and we're killing brain cells talking about him. There are things that are awesome and more entertaining to discuss.

 

but this is what happens when nobody posts about cool stuff ever. we just end up talking about arlon all the time. people need to post more cool stuff.
