If Vader didn't lose the fight on Mustafar against Obi-Wan and killed Palpatine (think ROTS video game alternate ending) would Vader have finished creating the Death Star? If he was in charge he would have come down hard on the Hutts, other slavers and dissenters but would he have created the Death Stars or other super weapons or just stuck with the Stormtroopers and the Star Destroyers? What do you think?

I honestly think no. He doesn't seem too impressed with the original. And then there's the untold powers that he and Luke could have wielded together; we know from the EU that two Sith working together can do devastatingly powerful things with the Force. Who needs a Death Star when you can create storms powerful enough to destroy worlds?

Absolutley. You should write a fanfic about this. The empire/sith were evil for a reason. The sith were a religious cult of darkside users who had a desire to rule the galaxy as dictators. The EU has more info on them. What do you mean he would have come down hard on the hutts and slavers? What's wrong with that? They're both evil groups. Vader would have kept the death star if he was emperor. Why wouldn't he? He was a bad guy. That's what made the empire evil. The deaths star. What else would the sith empire do that made them evil?

Another good question I had. Did the sith empire from 1000 yrs before the prequels have the death star?

I admit I forgot about Vader's spiel in ANH about the Death Star. How else would he have come down hard on a planet though? Vader not in the suit would be extremely powerful but Palpatine hasn't had the time to train him in destructive force storms yet. Maybe Palpatine had books lying around but they would be under heavy guard.

Good point. Obi wan wouldn't be around to give the twins to adopted parents, so Vader would take Luke and leia from a dying Padme. What do you mean "vader can create storms powerful enough to destroy worlds", with the darkside of the force? That would be interesting. The sith from 1000 years before the prequels could have done that. I thought the sith always had the death star.

Vader never made one, but there's really no reason to think he could not have.

The Sith always had the Death Star? Then why would they be building one? From scratch?

Why/how does the Force storm relate to the death star?

They always had the death star, but they rebuilt different ones over time. It was part of their code of ruling the galaxy.

No, they didn't. The one we saw in ANH was the first one.
    What CODE?

The sith were evil. The Jedi wanted to stop Palpatine from taking over the galaxy because he was an evil dictator-who did evil things, like the death star. If the sith ruled the galaxy 1000 years before the prequels, before the Jedi wiped them out, then they presumably had the death star because they were evil tyrants who did evil things. "The opression of the sith will never return". Why do you think Padme and luke refused to join anakin and rule the galaxy with him?

The Sith ruled the galaxy 1000 years before the Prequels?
    No, they didn't.
The Jedi never wiped the Sith out.
The Sith were not evil just because they built a Death Star.
Padme and Luke refused to join the Sith because Padme and Luke are good people who don't want to hang out with bad guys.
The Death Star is a stunning machine. It has nothing to do with the Force.

The scene with Windu and Palpatine, their duel in ROTS, just before anakin is knighted Vader, indirectly stated that the Sith once ruled the galaxy. In episode 1, they said that the sith hadn't returned in 1000 years. A question-when did the sith adopt the rule of two? Darth maul said the sith wanted revenge. Revenge of the sith refers to the sith wiping out the jedi and taking over the galaxy, striking back at the jedi who defeated them a millenia ago.

Why were were the sith evil, other than the death star.?Sounds evil enough to me.

Padme and luke refused to join the sith and rule the galaxy with vader because the sith were evil dictators who used the death star.

How does that indirectly suggest that they Sith ruled the galaxy? The Ewoks have never ruled the galaxy, yet they have always been present. You have admitted that you know nothing about the EU. How can you say that something happened if you don't know? I love the EU and know that the Sith never ruled the galaxy before Palpatine, because I have read things about the EU. I don't know anything about the Elvish language, so I can't say that there is an Elvish word for Hippomonstrosesquippedaliophobia by inferring that this word must exist because the Elvish language contains words. The movies refer to nothing you bring up. Your speculation is groundless. HOW does RotS refer to Sith ruling the galaxy?
The Sith adopted the Rule of Two when Darth Bane decided that it would be this way. This happened thousands of years ago.
The Sith are evil because they like killing people, being selfish and really support hate.

"Once more the sith will rule the galaxy, and we shall have peace"-Darth Sidious, Emperor Palpatine, episode 3, ROTS
"The opression of the sith will never return"-mace windu

The Jedi said something about the sith and a 1000 years in TPM.

Revenge of the sith. Darth maul said the sith wanted revenge. They wanted revenge cuz the jedi overthrew them a 1000 yrs ago.

    The EU mentioned sith empires.

The sith being selfish and supporting hate have nothing to do with them being evil rulers for the galaxy. The rebels didn't care if palpatine chanelled hate through dark magic and was a mean and selfish person, personally. They were evil for political reasons. They were dictators.

Vader certainly would have kept the death star. He would have used it on many planets in the galaxy. He was a bad guy, what else would he do?

I always thought that Vader looked at the Death Star as overkill...sort of the coward's way out of things. You could tell in A New Hope that he had a genuine disdain for Tarkin's toy.

But would he have used the deaths star if he was emperor? Or not? Are there other examples of how he didn't like the death star? Why did he still use it then? Did the empire have plans for other planets, other than Alderaan? Why weren't they mentioned? What planets were they?

Well, technically, he never used it - that was Tarkin and the Emperor all the way. As for mentioning other planets that were targeted, there are mentions of possibilities in the Expanded Universe of books.

It was used on Despayre, the prison colony where it was built.

Why was it used on Despayre? Also, was the purpose of the death star fear of force, rather than using the death star itself, or was that just a lie by tarkin?

Mainly to see if it'd work or not is why Despayre got blasted.

And officially it was the threat of force...but that's not how you run a country. You know what happens in countries where the people are afraid of the government?

They eventually get fed up and damn the potential consequences.
