It's now raining sideways in Morgantown, West Virginia. I'm pretty sure that I still have class tomorrow, however.

I've heard of money laundering, but that seems a little extreme.

Didn't I post essentially what Kate had posted, but with a picture? Anyways, I do apologize for my jackassery. There wasn't terrible, evil intent behind it.

Lower Manhattan is without power and the NYU Hospital's backup generators aren't working. Patients are being evacuated to other hospitals apparently.

Force be with anyone living in Sandy's path - although the reports here in the UK seem to have downgraded it to a post-tropical cyclone.

I well remember our 'Big Storm' of '87 (the Hurricane in all but name) that brought down thousands of trees and left us without power for a week! So my sympathies to all affected!

That's not good. About the hospital. Still, I just went outside to look at Lower Manhattan. What a sight, I say. On my side Brooklyn Bridge Park is half underwater now, but it seems most of this part of Brooklyn still has power.

My sister didn't leave her apt. at Greenwich and Canal. Now she has no power, there's water coming into her lobby, and she says there's four feet of water on Canal street.

We briefly lost power tonight near Pittsburgh. Hopefully we'll have it in the morning. The convergence between Sandy and the storm from Ohio could be bad. I'm not looking forward to my commute downtown tomorrow morning.

Still have power in my part of Philly. I'm already stir crazy, though, and it looks like I won't be leaving my apartment until Wednesday morning at the earliest. Maybe I'll walk to Wawa tomorrow for a change of scenery.

My friends in Tom's River, NJ have evacuated. Sounds like their house is already badly flooded, and there's still a band of heavy showers that hasn't hit the coast yet. :(

Also, I'm pretty sure I went to high school with this idiot.

Often it's idiots like that that usually survive storms like this.

I think we're in the eye right now or very close to it. It's pretty quiet right now with some light rain. The wind was pretty wicked earlier but nothing that was 75-90 mph or anything. It's definitely starting to close down now and it is anyone's guess, even the weathermen/women, what is in store for tomorrow. If I had to guess, at least in my area of PA, it will be the butt of lots of jokes for a good week or two. May the big guy in the sky helps those who are in the worse areas.

This part isn't true. A good portion of Lower Manhattan is flooded, but Manhattan is a lot bigger than you think.
